Guild Wars 2

Really disappointed about not getting in. This includes my whole guild, not one got an invite.

Why? It's a 3 day event for randomly selected people. And when the game comes out, none of it will have mattered provided they stick to their plan and not take advice from some loon.

Does anyone know if the characters from one weekend event will bill available throughout all the beta weekends until the end of beta? or will there be periodic wipes, or wipes every week?

The disappointment is when you've been waiting for a game for a long time, then your friend, who never played the first and didn't even know about the beta other than when you mentioned it to him, gets to play it before you its quite frustrating. Sure I can live not getting into the beta, but having my friend get in is just rubbing salt in my wounds. :(

But your friend who hasn't played the first, will get to see what all the fuss is about now and when it comes out, play with you (you may not even have to explain to them how the game works?). Win - win?

No idea but they said one beta doesn't guarantee you entry to the next, so I would have thought its reset each time.

Maybe they will give you access to ready levelled characters so higher level areas of the game can be tested.

He's one of these that refuses to pay for software. Purchasing the game wouldn't happen.

If you don't have it by now, you ain't getting in this month's beta event.

And the next few beta events will be full of people who've already pre-purchased, so your chances of getting into the remaining events (for free), are close to zero.

surely they have to do an open beta, to stress test everything ? i cant remember a MMO not doing an open beta.

I will buy it no matter what, but it would be nice to just "dip" my fingers in and see what its like :D

SWTOR never truly had an open beta and I'm pretty sure Guild Wars was all closed as well.

With the amount of people they have signing up for closed beta, they have sufficient people they can invite to do a full stress test without fully opening it up.
