Guild Wars 2

Graphics seem worse than I remember from the last beta. Much more blurred. Though I am sober tonight, so maybe the beer cancelled it out last time :p
it did to me too, it was like there's no anti-aliasing even with the box clicked

i had to stop playing as it was giving me a headache :(

I think I was playing on medium settings or so last night, and that was around 40 FPS. Ultra put me at about 20-25 and wasn't really playable.

8gb RAM

etcetc

Was getting 40+FPS on ultra werid as yours is an awersome spec

Seems performance is all over the shop tbh. Obviously the engine needs a lot of optimising for various hardware.

With a bit of luck the next beta weekend will use a more recent client and we can see how far they've got with this.

Ran prefectly for me last night. Logged in straight away and didn't witness any lag even during a dynamic event. Would be nice to have a beta event with an optimised client as I can see this game looking absolutely stunning!

I was hoping someone could help clarify something for me.

My char is an Elementalist as I will be playing this at release, while fighting mobs I couldn't help think, I need more dodges to keep the mobs at range for my skills.

I'm pretty sure I'm playing it wrong. Should I be using my staff while the mobs are at range, then when they get into melee range switch to something else?

If so, are there skills on the Ele associated with melee?

With an Ele I would have thought you wouldn't want to be letting them get into melee range. Should be using snares and whatnot to keep them at bay while you back off and dodge out of range.

I was getting similar, when with 20+ people, but had decent fps solo. Similar spec to you.

Wasnt the best idea doing a stress test on the day of D3 release though.

I'm only level 5 so skills are limited I believe. My only form of escape was a roll back that left a trail of fire. With the amount of dodges available though I couldn't stay out of melee forever, hence why I think I'm doing something wrong somewhere!

You cannot swap weapons as an elementalist. Not during combat anyway.

you do however have the F1-F4 keys and the power of the 4 elements. Experiement next beta with unlocking the other 3 elements skills and see howe you get on :)

elementalist imo is a very 'glass cannon' style of play. Lethal behind a melee line in WvW however ;)

Hmmm maybe it's not the class for me then. I'll take your advice and give the element swapping thing a go!

Watch these videos and copy them when playing an ele:

If you're getting hit anymore than I am (and I was TERRIBLE at dodging in these videos), you're doing it wrong.

Still believe more people would have been playing had Diablo 3 not been released.

Dunno, seemed quieter than the beta when i last played

Had exactly the same. And have had every beta event so far. It really does need fixing.

Last night I spent all evening trying to play with my Brother, but we could never get on the same server.

What you need to do is keep walking in and out of a portal (main city) until it starts to load. Ignore the pop up asking to travel to overflow or queue, just keep walking in and out of it.

At most, it took 15 walk-in-out of portal before it let me into the main world, works like a charm within a minute, every time, always, for 4 of us as a group :)
