Why would it get a nerf? whats wrong with it?
Working as intended, so are other profession skills like rocket jump and the theif arrow teleport, mesmer teleport, guardian leep....etc
Because this isn't city of heroes, people shouldn't be able to leap tall buildings, or jump great chasms. If it was a smaller jump then I would have no issue with it, but something like that which can get you to places the devs may never have intended or allow you to bypass huge portions of obstacles such as in WvW or dungeons then that is not that great of class balance.

How would you intend on "nerfing" it in anycase?
Doing anything to the skill would make it worthless.

So all other skills can be used in mid-air apart from ride the lightning because it allows the elementalist to escape and cut down travel time? makes sense.
The only thing I could accept is to add a longer recharge time onto it, but nerfing it in anyway will hammer its use in both PvP and PvE, air is hardly used enough as it is.
the vast majority of combat will be on ground, nerfing the ability wont effect any of those people. It'll just nerf the situations where and elementalist can leap just chasms.
I don't want a plate wearer to be flying around. I don't want anyone to be flying over canyons. The way I see it is that the devs design terrain to create barriers and terrain features that allow for choke points, dead ends etc..., and having skills that can just bypass these features doesn't enhance the combat experience. Look at swtor for example, that had abilities like force leap, grappling hooks, and several mobility abilities but I don't consider them overpowered because there were not really any situations that made those abilities overpowered, no canyons to leap over, no big buildings to leap from one to the other etc...
From my experience as an elementalist in the previous beta weekend, and the video of seeing what the skill is capable of I do think that in a small few situations it can be too powerful. Yes some elementalists may cry if it gets nerfed but no elementalist can say that they can't play perfectly well with that ability being slightly nerfed as the class is great already.
I'm not going to debate it any more, my final words on the matter is just some things need balancing, that ability is one of them.

(Probably because you live in Gravesend
