Guild Wars 2

Ive been looking at GW2, never played before as iv said before. Looking at videos and the webby articles. But is there anywhere to see all the skills, like every other game gives you before release? I use this to pick what char im going to pick.

:p

I foudn the best thing to do was look at the narrated pvp vids on youtube as they describe which skills are most useful. This is why I know warrior is OP and my choice

Continued on my adventures as a warrior last night, logged in to my level 14 asura, hoping to get level 15-16 at least so I can wear the set of armour I had crafted.

Before I knew it, it was midnight and I was level 19. This game has the ability to just suck time away! Which is great, but I can see days going by without realising it lol

I havent tried any professions as of yet, do they work well with different classes? I have been thinking of doing a theif/warlock.

Any ideas which will be best for each class?

I love people who try and pick an OP class at launch, they almost invariably get nerfed not long after so why not just pick a class you enjoy?

Indeed, no point trying to look at it in terms of power, just pick something that interests you. I've read up and I think I'm going to try a Necro or a Ranger, not sure what race though.

Was thinking towards a Guardian. Every game i play i pick other than a tank. And always regret not picking one for end-game.

What are the necros like - I am not sure how to play him I did have a staff but it gets a little tedious with just putting circles on the floor haha

Still no idea what to role yet, in my mind its an Ele (as per my main in gw1), but also really like the engineer and ranger, then its what race. Too many decisions and too little time left :p

Warrior's aren't OP, they can be easily countered if you know how and what to look for.

If you really want to be successful in PVP though you need to build for heavy condition removal rather than high burst damage, because once people understand the mechanics of the game and learn to dodge burst will be dead and/or just not as effective.

Well technically in gw2 there is no normal endgame. Not like we knew it anyway with no tanks, healers etc. so just choose what you want as dungeons at 80 can be done by 5 thiefs if wanted.

From what I have seen I think all the races have their own lore, starting in the Human zone may give you a decent understanding of the history of Humans and their demise from being the most powerful race in Tyria.

However going forward I would say the Sylvari probably have the most lore going forward into GW2. They have a story very very connected to the stories going into endgame in GW2.

Oh I will :) but there will always be nubs!

So I reckon I have slimmed my choice down to either charr engineer or sylvari ranger.

I haven't tried the guardian or warrior class though....

Too many decisions all characters and progressions seem to play so well clicked most with the charr engineer though.
