Guild Wars 2

Does anyone know if this game is better on AMD or Nvdiia cards? Getting a new card any day now and Guild Wars 2 will be my main game.

I went from a 7950 to 670 GTX recently due to the 7950 being eventually faulty. The 670 runs the game a whole lot better.

Anyone order the CE? I got a strange email that said:
"We are aware that your order for the item(s) listed below has still not been sent and continue to work with our suppliers to get this to you as quickly as possible.

We're sorry this has happened. We're continuously looking for ways to improve the service we offer to you and we really hope you'll give us a chance to do better next time."

Zavvi?

Does sound like the type of mail you would send to prepare someone for the worst... I think I would start getting worried if I received that mail...

Zavvi send those out a lot, they're a pretty unreliable retailer.

I ordered a blu ray on their mega monday deal and I got about 6 of those emails over almost two months (while it was being advertised on the mega monday as well :/) Before they finally dispatched it.

They're probably better for preorders but I'd be worried.

Quick performance question - anyone been playing any of the tests on a low end machine, ie dual core C2D/i3 or a laptop with low/mid range graphics? Just how cpu intensive is WvWvW, or large scale PvP in general?

My PC: :(
E2180 C2D @ 2GHz
2GB DDR2 PC2-6400
ATI HD6850 (only fairly decent bit I have, it replaced my old 8800gt)

Everything on low/off at 1280x1024 (max res on my CRT, those with higher res would have even more issues than me), PvE is fine for the most part although long load times (WD caviar black 1TB hdd, but I think it's the CPU/RAM that causes long loads for me). WvW is fine up to a point, after 20 to 30 players the FPS drops low enough that I have trouble activating skills and moving properly to the point I couldn't win any 1 on 1 (not that 1 on 1 ever happens really in WvW) so I just had to stick with the group and provide a bit of support and a bit of dmg now and then. In 100+ WvW it's not really playable, I can follow the zerg but can't always do a great deal, so I'm more forced to stay back and use siege equipment and such rather than get in the thick of it.

sPvP isn't too bad, being limited to 16 players (or 10 in a 5v5) helps.

It could be better and my system does lower my combat performance a bit, but it's good enough to be what I consider playable and to me graphics is never a concern if the gameplay is there, hell I still enjoy nethack from time to time and that insane game is ASCII!

not a problem with zavvi, they have been updating your accounts with the order since the 9th and those emails get sent out automatically if something doesn't ship within a week, which is today.

there is no problem with your orders, log in and look at your outstanding orders there should be a guild wars 2 costing £0.00 currently processing, they recently added that to your orders 09/08/2012 and it will come when it's ready, hopefully by the 24th :p

I got the same thing. Presumably it is just an automated thing with the stock/shipping.

Thanks for that, and also to other people's replies earlier.

Ok well I wasn't planning on doing a lot of WvW stuff anyway, and prefer small scale pvp, so I should be able to get away with some weaker hardware (I mean for example an i3 2120 or an i5 3210m compared to a 3570k at 4+ Ghz, so not really too bad).

I'm just happy to explore and do PvE for the most part, should get more than the money's worth out of that alone.
