Guild Wars 2

All the professions were appealing to me, there comes a point however where you just need to put your foot down and pick one! :p

Don't think its ever been so hard to pick one profession to play in a game. I think I've got my mind made up then watch a few more vids or have a play in a stree test and its back to sqaure one. Got one more chance to get it right before game time at least :p

I think you are confusing the g600 with a different mouse. The g600 has 12 buttons on the side like the naga.

oops yeah soz , did not see that one, I would if the software was good go for that as I rate Logitech a lot higher in build quality than razer

ArenaNET and Blizzard are so at war now.

Blizzard announce that patch 1.04 will be live today from 1PM PDT for Diablo 3, moments later ArenaNET announce that there will be a stress test at roughly the same times.

Coincidence? I think not.

That together with them releasing the "MoP" patch on the same day as GW2's release does smell like desperation :p

MoP's Patch was always going to come out a month before release, that's how they did all previous expansions, but the timing of it all just screams panic.

Blizzard rely so heavily on revenue from WoW that a small drop of 30% would cause massive financial problems for them. Why else do you think Activision are trying sell them off. They know there's a **** storm coming.

In saying that though MoP will bring people back for a while, might keep people busy for a month but then its back to square one again. The game relies so heaving on raid content, yet Blizzard can't create it fast enough.

I think that's one place GW2 has them by the gonads, because the game is both a challenge and fun no matter what level you are. You can be level 80 and still go help your mates in starter zones. You will be strong than them, but won't rofl stomp over all the content.

Any chance of an invite Wab - finally caved and prepurchased - will i need to apply on site (although I see it says apps closed on the web site).

Think we should wait maybe a bit over a month of actually playing the game to see if it is 'fun' without raiding content, you can't judge that based of a few beta weekends.

My friends going Necro. Only problem for me, the PvP videos of Necro's dont look too cracking.

If anyone whos played beta can give me any more info on these?

I enjoy playing Necro. Don't judge a class from Beta Weekends, and Stress Tests. Class balancing is ongoing.

I'm definately rolling a condition Necro.

For clarification - Activision aren't looking to sell Blizzard. Vivendi are looking to sell Activision Blizzard. 30% isn't a small drop, and in reality we have no idea about their finances.

Looking forward to tonights test though, hopefully will finally decide on what race to roll.

I know it's probably been asked and answered within this thread but what kind of specs does this game (well, the beta atm anyway) need to run nicely?

My desktop specs are in my sig but I'd also like to be able to play on my Dell XPS laptop (Core i7-2630QM, 4GB DDR3 ram & a 3GB GeForce GT555M GPU - ideally at native 1080 res)

Anyone know if either of these specs are going to be good enough??

Thanks...

Both specs will be able to run the game @ 1080p on high settings.....they have been optimising the game over the last 3 months and I believe Nvidia are about to release a new set of drivers that include updates for GW2.....before I had my 680 I was playing on a GTX470 on high and was getting 55-60 fps most of the time....with little or no slow downs.

Well we know know activion blizzards revenue is 1.2 billion / month, WoW costs them 400 million / month to maintain, which leaves 800 million / month to cover everything else including profits. Even a small drop in subscribers would put a significant dent in the potential profits.

My mistake on the activision thing though, it is indeed vivendi who are looking to sell out, which begs to question, why would someone be trying to sell off such a "lucrative" investment?

yeah it's pretty fantastic my girlfriends x3 phenom II and a 4890 overclocked has been getting over 30 fps on high so I'm holding off upgrading it for her until something comes that needs more power. That said you can't max max it out on many setups.
