Guild Wars 2

yeah it's pretty fantastic my girlfriends x3 phenom II and a 4890 overclocked has been getting over 30 fps on high so I'm holding off upgrading it for her until something comes that needs more power. That said you can't max max it out on many setups.

Biggest impact on performance other than AA are shadows. Drop em down to low/med and the FPS will increase substantially.

Well we know know activion blizzards revenue is 1.2 billion / month, WoW costs them 400 million / month to maintain, which leaves 800 million / month to cover everything else including profits. Even a small drop in subscribers would put a significant dent in the potential profits.

My mistake on the activision thing though, it is indeed vivendi who are looking to sell out, which begs to question, why would someone be trying to sell off such a "lucrative" investment?

Probably because WoW is well past its peak.....Wow being their biggest source of income, means that unless something amazing happens the current value of Activision Blizzard is at its highest that it will be for the forseeable future for any potential investor.

If Vivendi were to cash in now with revenue streams of £1.2 billion a month, I cant even fathom how much they would get for it.....considering a rough guide for a companies worth is 5 x their annual turnover.

Where did you get 400 million a month from? That seems bananas. They run around 2.5k servers and have a few thousand support staff, plus ongoing development, but 400 million is insane. For comparisons sake, SWToR took 200 million to develop, in its entirety.

re: vivdendi, theres a decent read on it on forbes, i will find the link.

Back to GW2, norn or human for a warrior? I think I prefer the norn animations, but the human size feels a lot better with regards to movement speed.

Norn are too big for me. I wanted a big player though so I am playing a Charr Male Warrior.

Speeds are obviously the same but yeah the animation feels like your slow. Same with Tauren in WoW.

I find Charr quite unplayable because I can't quite do the jumping puzzles with them lol. I'm going to be testing mesmer tonight in an effort to see if it can sway me away from Sylvari Warrior popopopo.

i know i was disappointed with EOTN being in a basic case, wanted it to fit with the rest of the collection :(

if anyone knows where to get a card box for it let me know :)

You lucky bugger, i was too young to get a CE for the original :(

I'd probably buy them again if i found them at a decent price sealed, fantastic CE's for the price.
