Guild Wars 2

God a few question about the game, appreciate if someone can take time to answer.

Does it have the same feel as original wow?

I understand there's no dedicated healer or tank class. I actually like 5 man tank-healer-dps co-operation, so does GW2 have 4-5-6man dungeon play, where "skills" and co-operation matter. So far I only saw tons of people beat on big bosses, which seems like chaos rather than tactics.

Is there unique gear that lets you stand out, ie like in WoW, seeing a guy with tier 2 helm from onyxia, was pretty epic.

Big problem for me is the chaos (which leads me to believe game is too easy). In WoW there were world bosses but just a random collection of people wouldn't be able to kill it, you'd need designated team, prepared for fight, while in GW2 it seems like there's just tons of people whaling on that big boss and eventually get him down, what's the challenge in that?

It's not all chaos, there will be bosses that reset if someone dies meaning only skilled teams or guilds can take them down. We've not seen level 80 bosses yet so wait and see.

My gaming friend decided be couldnt wait for Tesco to send his normal copy out he's just bought it from Arena and gave me his 3 day headstart details to download the copy. Going to see if this will let me in on the headstart without having to pay the £5.00 a day premium.

There are absolutely challenges that only the minority will complete. The rewards for them are not better stats though as the traditional WoW mould would be. There are are however lots of unique gear that only an extremely small percentage of the players in the game will wear.

Well technically the more hours exploring and collecting skill points you do the more skills you have available to flip in and out of reactively in between combat so not everyone will be equal. also wow players will suck at flipping weapons and skills/heals between fights because they just haven't been brought up over the last 5 years on complexities like this. For me though I love the customisation.

Visual uniqness is good, I take it devs keep stats capped on gear to avoid unfairness? I appreciate that.

What do you mean by challenges though, are there group only events, or raids, what is the end game in GW2 pve wise?

world bosses with very tough tactics and several hard mode 5 man dungeons, the rep grind usually = better rewards in gw and will last a long time. To be fair as there is these world bosses lets just call them raids as they are even in the traditional sense raids and hard to kill so need a guild usually.

Could someone explain the OCUK guild system. It seems like there are several, are they all dedicated OCUK guilds, or just guilds which happen to have OCUK members?

Cheers.

As it stands I don't think there's one "Official" OCUK guild, members seem to be spread across multiple guilds with The Immortals having the largest portion of them (iirc).

Most are guilds which have OcUK members, my guild for example will have around 40-45 non OcUK people with around a further 5 OcUK people currently.

Once you complete a dungeon in Guild Wars 2 the explorable mode for said dungeon becomes available, explorable mode usually gives the player 3 paths to reach the end, meaning each dungeon in the game actually accounts for 4 traditional WoW instance experiences. In other words there's a lot of content in these dungeons.

The difficulty of each path varies with the hardest paths designed to represent an extreme challenge on a scale larger then WoW's 5 man instances, this is the areas of the game you are going to find some of the most visually impressive gear.

Arenanet have kept a lot of their end game content up their sleeves, which is perceived by some to mean they have none or very little, however I'm pretty confident the end game PvE content is quite a bit more then what most of these people are expecting.

I would have thought most people already have a guild now. You're welcome to though!

I will be joining a new guild thats made up of my existing GW1 guild members. However they are all non-UK so I would like to have a guild were everyone is more or less based in the UK. I suppose why not since we can now have multiple guilds in GW2!

Sounds good, I like challenges and bling :D

Pre-ordered, hopefully this game is as awesome as it seems to be.
