Guild Wars 2

Anyone else getting the 'hardware failure detected' error when using afterburner? I can run the game fine when I close afterburner but the problem is my graphics card sounds like a hair dryer when I do :P

Have all the logging in problems been sorted now? I want to get this but don't want to spend the first few days of owning the game, screaming at my monitor because I can't login. Still ****ed off with Diablo 3 lol

well you fail at selling it to me then!

I was after some inspiration to buy it but all I have to go on is the odd screen shot in here, looks like I will pass then if this is the attitude of its player base.

Your post was poorly written. It was just a statement where instead of asking about the game you tried to bait people in here to reply to you.

and now your replying to the same thread painting all of us with the same brush. Seems that the one with the attitude problem here is yourself.

Sleeve didn't even say anything offensive and he's correct in his post. There's too many people posting how they're not getting this game here which is pointless. Imagine going into every game's thread that you don't play in this section and giving your opinion on why you don't play it.

For everyone still asking.

At the moment the login server is stable and there are no problems. It has definitely improved from the past few days when there was several hour intervals where the login server was being overwhelmed or was down for unplanned maintenance. It should be mostly smooth sailing from here but as with all MMOs there will be a few hiccups along the way.

Yes, I'm pretty much the same. It does have the added bonus of Events, where anyone in the area can join in. So I can do my own thing then wade into a fight with others if I feel like it.

Exactly the same here. Perfectly viable way to play it seems.

I didn't get a hardware failure, but it definitely thrashes my 7950, I was getting 70% -100% usage and the fan was getting up to 60% at times.

Try disabling On-Screen display server (Can be done by removing screenshot/video capture shortcut keys and unticking FPS in monitoring in Aftrerburner main window settings)

Also set Detection level to None in On-Screen Display Server GUI itself.

GW2 refuses to work with DxTory unless I launch it at the 'Play' launcher window. Launching it before that or while GW2 is running crashes the game client. I imagine it's something to do with GW2 hating anything hooking into it, something which Afterburner also does.

Well I logged in last night for the first time and got in straight away and didn't get disconnected for the whole 5 or 6 hours I played.

Not had any graphical issues with my ATI card.

Rumour is Nvidia got a chance for awhile to optimize GW2 for their cards but not ATI.

The biggest issues are server queues into areas/PvP

Love my mint green dye. :D

ooo that is nice..!

I'm starting to despise seeing the text "A New Event Is Nearby".

It's taken me 5 attempts to run about 100ft to a new world event! I CAN'T RESIST.

That did the trick, thanks!

I wonder if there is any common ground with these people getting the password reset request emails. I havent had one yet, nor has anyone in my little circle of players. So wondering if there is any common aspect to the people who are getting them?

None of us played GW1 for example, is everyone who is getting these phishing mails also ex GW1 players? or some other common aspect maybe?

Ive never played GW1....I've never had any Phishing on this email address in the past, but I got the change password request this morning.

The strange thing is, that is from the official Arenanet email.....not some email adress trying to look like Arenanets.
