Down under mate!
As you may have noticed the forums have been a lot slower lately. Some of you may have noticed the database errors we're constantly getting. One of the possible reasons for this, is the huge amount of very large threads we have across the forums. So I'm afraid the old thread will be archived.

The original thread can be found here.

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18421985 thread for the other guilds on here

Do a lot of people still play this? tempted to pick it up, usually play most MMO's but been off track since living at uni.

Yeh I still play quite a bit and always find some great things to do, there are weekly updates as well. It is a very easy game to get into plus you don't have to worry about monthly subscriptions.

I'm playing right now. Still great.

Ascended gear is a bit ridiculous mind you with unnecessary grind involved, so other than trinkets I'm sticking with exotics for the moment. Just working on crafting an ascended backpiece at the moment.

How big is the download/install? Cheers.

I think I downloaded about 18GB - don't quote me on that though as I went away from the PC whilst it was doing it.

Just started playing this - enjoying the exploration aspect of finding waypoints and vistas. I'm fairly sure I suck at the combat aspect of it after playing WoW, Rift and LoTR:O for all these years. But hopefully I will improve.

My folder currently is sitting just under 20gb's.

Nice one mate.

This game is seriously good, just done all of the human starting area up to the Centaur battlegrounds, all vistas, quests etc. and I'm having a blast, graphics are decent and the presentation is flawless. Combat feels like a classic MMO but requires a bit of actual skill as there doesn't seem to be much lock on and you have to aim your attacks. I played the beta and thought it was pesh and now it's the bee's knees, can't see myself subbing to TESO anymore tbh. :o

£18 for anyone after a cheap key, £18 for this is mad!

Its an outstanding MMO, gfx are amazing, animations are top notch. The Personal Stories are great. Each zone is brilliantly laid out, I love the exploration they brought back into MMO's. My only complaint is the lack of end game 'direction'.

Once I've got through 5 or so Steam game I've left from last years sales this will be back onto my HD.

ThundyCat, is it possible to remove Tsunami from the list of guilds in the second post? The clan kind of failed in the midst of Arenanet's failure to implement competitive PvP within a reasonable time limit (according to their promises).

The Origin's of Madness - Jan 21st Update

The heroes of Tyria face a battle on two fronts, attacked by a giant wurm from beneath the Bloodtide Coast and a twisted marionette in the mountains of Lornar’s Pass. Prepare to take up arms, join with your friends and fellow heroes, and fight off the rising threats.

The Begining of the End of the Scarlet story arc (which finishes in March).

Things are kicking up a notch :D
