Guild Wars 2

Game just bored me.

Which is strange in that I played the first GW a fair amount.

Good looking game, but I personally didn't like the artistic direction.

Shame.

loved it at first, enjoyed WvW and some pve content... but the bugs , the engine runs like **** and it soon got boring. Also the WvW season 1 rewards were an absolute joke.

Next patch details should come out tomorrow, and it's meant to be a biggy. It's the penultimate patch of the Scarlet storyline, and apparently all hell is going to break lose :D

Can't wait ^_^

I've not really played since just before xmas. In a nut shell what are the areas that have been changed for the latest story? I've seen some large puppet queens guard but not actually fought it yet. I'm sure there was another area update.

But before just before Xmas we had Fractured, which added three new Fractals and a couple of new fractal bosses, plus reballanced some of the old ones. Plus it was the end of the Tower of Nightmares where we finished delivering the Anti-Toxin to the tower in Kessex Hills destroying it. There are new events and champions to kill in Kessex, plus it's still full of Toxic enemies.

December was pretty much solid Wintersday activities, plus they added in Ascended Armour crafting, some new healing skills, a reballanced a ton of skills.

January added in the Origins of Madness, which has the Marionette superweapon event in Lornars Pass (starts on the hour every even numbered hour), Bloodtide Coast has the Wurm event which starts with an escort mission around 10past the hour (odd hours), and the Wurm fights start around 20 past (depending how long escorts take). The Wurm has 3 heads which have to be fought by separate groups at 3 different locations and must be decapitated within a minute of each other to win.

The Wurm is a VERY hard fight, easily the hardest boss in the game, and its not been beaten very often, maybe 5 times total over all the servers.

In addition to the bosses there's a ton of lore to be seen, you can gain access to Scarlet's secret lab, find her diaries, get ideas on some of her future plans. Then in the latest patch they've added a full recap instance where you examin everything that has been going on for the last year and try to puzzle out what Scarlet has been working towards and what comes next... which is going to be something big, and devastating!

Also with the latest patch they added the Edge of the Mists WvW map, which is a huge new WvW area separate to the main WvW event. Points on EotM don't affect main WvW standings but they can earn your main WvW areas additional supply drops. It's also a good place to earn WorldXP to increase your WvW Rank, and is actually a really really nice WvW map! Some great fights going on in there.

I picked this up on Sunday and must say I am really loving it, I have a lvl 10 necro on Fissure of Woe and it would be great to make some friends.

I work away in the week but should get lots of time to play at weekends. Game name Kruxxie.
I am now thinking of picking a laptop to play in my evenings while away :D
So far I am just enjoying the journey and finding new events.
I do look forward to getting into some PvP too. In GW1 I had a small guild and we were regularly in the top 60-50 for GvG. :)

Last night I was watching videos of some of the secret jumping paths which I think are a really nice addition.

We should get the trailer to the new content today. Which if rumours are true should be Scarlet begining a full on invasion of Lions Arch as she attempts to summon/kill Mordramoth. *Squeeeeeeee*

Hello Guys. a few questions if you don't mind.

Picked this up with my son on the weekend.

Can we play Co Op, if so how?
And if we can, can we chat to each other using VOIP( i don't think there is something in game)

Cheers

Join the same server then yes you can do most things together, even the story I think.

For voice comms I'd just use steams voice chat or something in the background.

Can some one point me to some where to understand what these "P's" mean.
As you can guess I'm new to this.

But they force PVP on people who want to get map completion and legendary weapons. 97% of map completion is PVE and then you literally require people to go into PVP and get zerg ganked trying to get to POIs, vistas and skill challenges.

Technically you have to go into WvW not PvP.

Also, you really don't have to get zerg ganked, every Friday the servers rotate colours, so you can map areas that previously your enemies were holding.

If you want to do it faster, it's a case of sneaking about the map avoiding enemy patrols, or joining up with your server zerg taking towers.

Overall map completion isn't going to be the thing that stops you getting a Legendary, by the time you have everything else saved up
to make one you'll have finished map completion several times over.

If you're just starting make sure you pick the same home server (though you can guest, it's much better if you're on the same home server). Desolation and Gandara are your best bets for a busy EU server population.

Hi All, played with my my yesterday for two hours on co op.
My question is when we finished his story I had to do mine. Is this correct?

Is there another form of co op that I have missed? Thanks.

Some of the very early story sections must be done solo, but after the early levels you can party up for most of the story sections.
