Guitar Hero 3

My Les Paul is pretty much screwed up. I played with it when i first got the game, and quickly went back to my Xplorer for two reasons.

1) Some fret presses just wouldn't register on the game, especially double/treble fret notes.

2) It really dug into my arm because of the sharpish edge of the main body of the guitar, became really uncomfortable. I like to play with the underside of my forearm on the top of the guitar.

I had to play with it yesterday because a friend came round for some co-op and it was awful. I would send it back but i got it off the Internet and they'll probably ask me to send the whole package back, which would suck because i do love the game, and have been playing it pretty much everyday since i got it. :(

Worth giving the contacts on the neck and body a clean, worked for a mate whose guitar wasnt registering some button presses. Cant hurt to get in touch with the retailer if that doesnt work though, they may be flexible and let you hang onto the disc :).

Though I don't own the Wii version, apparently there is currently a bug which requires disc replacement, where the sound is in mono rather than Dolby Digital and there isn't any DLC yet.

On the other hand it has some 'exclusive features', which I'll quote directly from Wiki:

Wikipedia said:
The Wii version of the game has several exclusive features, since a Wii Remote must be inserted into the guitar controller. The game utilizes the Wii Remote's wireless capabilities and accelerometer, as well as making use of the rumble feature and the internal speaker:[26] The internal speaker on the Wii Remote is used to emit an effect when incorrect notes are hit; and the Wii Remote's rumble feature is utilized when Star Power mode is activated. While the Wii version has online play utilizing game-specific friend codes, downloadable content was not available at launch, although it may be available in the future.[27] The Wii and PS2 versions also use slightly different graphics and sounds from those on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, such as a different typeset, loading screen, and the Wii version featuring "screw up sounds" more akin to Guitar Hero I and II.

So my mrs has bought me this for xmas. I was looking for GH2 and can only find it with the Guitar. Is it possible to buy the game without the guitar?

Or can the tracks from GH" just be downloaded?

Edit, looking on auction the game on its own goes for over £35.

A certain asian games store is selling GH2 on its own, only problem is ive had it on order for over 1 month and they have been let down by their suppliers and its not due in for a while.

I bought mine online, and had a problem with the guitar. I definitely did not buy a second copy from the high street and return the broken guitar to that store. Oh, no.

lol that old trick.

Well mines gone on that auction site 5days after I bought it, it was either that or going out the window, I didnt enjoy any boss battles, Iplayed Lou twice and told it to FO and that was only on medium, maybe its because I play a real guitar so can't justify the time to learn expert.

The guitar is awful aswell, who decided to make it in two parts realllly silly.

Although saying all that, I just played Raining Blood and One, enjoyed them both :D

Might get GH2 next yr and buy GH3 on its own or something.

Hi Guys,

Got GH3 for PS3 at the weekend and absolutely loving it. Though never having played GH1/2 am feeling like an amateur at the moment, but i' sure that will pass.

Quick Q - Wanting to play this coop with 2 guitars. Have been reading that guitars will not be available seperately until the new year. Was wondering if the GH2 guitars for the PS2 version would work with the PS3?

Cheers.

Got this the other day, am playing through on easy, then moving to normal etc when complete (whilst finishing Metroid Prime 3 and Mass Effect, and doign crazy xmas work hours). The games really fun, unfortunately I seem to have one of the guitars with an issue, the red fret sometimes just doesnt register. It happened to me the other day, and because I was on a waiting part, I pressed the button to see whether I'd just missed...nothign...then started hammering the fret, moving the neck etc and it took about twenty hammers on the fret button for it to pickup again. :(

Real shame as Im loving the game, just very hard to play the later songs even on easy, when one of your frets doesnt always work quite right!

I'm so glad mines not like that! That must be so frustrating!
