Guitar Hero - Buy for Wii or buy a 360/PS3 with it?

That's the problem - im 37 and for some reason the people I happen to have grown up with never really got in to consoles or think they have grown out of them - losers...

so i rely on the internet community to play multiplayer games and in this regard i had read that 360 was massively ahead of ps3 - but again perhaps ive got that wrong..

Nope, you're right, the 360 online is quite a bit ahead of the PS3s, keep in mind you do have to pay to play online on the 360 though while the PS3 is free, you get what you pay for! The PS3s online features are functional, but inferior.

If all you want to do is play Rock band/Guitar hero world tour stick with the Wii version. you'll have just as much fun with it as on the PS3/x360 and this time GH has DLC for the Wii. Cant see the point on purchasing another console if all you want to do is play games like this though.

online play is so fundamental to my enjoyment of games that i really don't mind paying for that. i won't just play GH or rock band.. i will play other games too. However, these games come with a costly accessory so i'd rather make my future console choice before buying them...

more and more im thinking 360 - i apologise for turning this in to a 360vPS3 thread - there is already one of those going so i'll go read up on that.

thanks for all the great replies guys - very informative.

I don't want to turn this in to a 360 vs PS3 discussion but... :)

360 seems to have much more and better multiplayer over the internet games - and multiplayer/internet games are what i love.

However, I keep reading about this potential for 360's to break due to heat and a design fault. Is this a pile of rubbish?

Also PS3 seems to be newer technology so i thought maybe it would make more sense to get that - or have i got that totally wrong?

I really wish I had got a 360 when they first came out - now i am worried i will buy one and it will be replaced by microsoft soon...

rrod isnt really common on new consoles now. even if it was you get a 3 year warranty for it.

still for £120 you don't really have an excuse not to.
