Guitar Hero: Metallica - Full Setlist announced!

Good GOD!

That Queen song is possibly the worst song in any music game. The rest weren't much better, the AIC song, I managed to hit the Green/Yellow trill, even though I was going way to slow. Probably a rental to knock out the guitar achievements, but even that'll be at a push.

Are you a Metallica fan at all???

STC is a great cover...

Definite preorder for me.

Demo worked perfectly with RB guitar is anyone is wondering, I'll try the drums later.

Yes, I am a Metallica fan. It just so happend that I found the songs to be pretty badly charted, and STC had no noticable rhythm whatsoever.

I said it to my brother last night, and i'll say it now, this is looking to be the joint worst GH yet, tied with GH:WT. Since it's gone to full band, it's just become rubbish, even GH:A was better than WT.

As Creature says unfortunately with a game like GH it doesn't matter how great the song is, it's how much fun it is to play. Some of the best songs in the GH games are songs that I've never heard of before playing the game but are just incredible fun to play. Sadly since the game has become bigger they've chosen songs based on how well known they are and not how fun they are to play (which is understandable really, it brings in more money)

I really hoped this would be challenging :(

We have rockband to think for that :)

And yet again, these songs are from the first few setlists - how can you judge the difficulty of the whole game by 4 songs from the easier setlists?

Great example, how many people have played the GH3 demo?

The hardest song in there was "The metal" - and that song wasn't even in the 7th or 8th setlists - where the difficulty ramped up enormously. The other songs were all easy too...

I think were also forgetting that people get better, there's a limit to how hard these games can get. I struggled my way through GH3 on expert but now if I was given a game that was said to have GH3's difficulty I would fly through it...

How do you know that? Aerosmith demo had Walk This Way in it which was one of the final songs afaik. Still it's my belief that any song on expert should be fairly challenging.

I love Metallica - my 2nd or 3rd favourite of all time...but I can't believe that there's no Call of Kthulu on here...it beats Orions rear end!

Walk this way was about as far through the game as the metal was.

And not really, there's plenty of songs people on this forum can 100% on expert no problem in any of these music games.

Even so, I don't think I can get 98% on The Metal on expert even now after having played it several hundred times. That I can get that first time on these is worrying :(

Personal preference - some people find parts of songs easier than others do. I didn't 100% any of those metallica songs however I can 98% the metal no problem

Fade to Black they say? I may buy it just for that song!

Just have to wait until it can be had a bit cheaper.

Seek and Destroy, Sad But True (aka the track Kid Rock butchered :P), along with the Queen and Alice In Chain track.

Did anyone else notice the demo is only in 2 channel stereo unlike most Xbox games/demos being DD as well?

:o No? I remember seeing my receiver switch itself to dolby prologic II like world tour does when I boot it up.

Do you use surround?

Yep I was using the setup in my sig, the xbox was outputting DD on the dashboard, then as soon as I loaded the demo it changed to PCM 2 channel output, I even reset the 360 incase it was a bug and it did the exact same thing again, whereas I was playing other games in 5.1 DD fine.

For info sake I use HDMI/Bitstream.

I know in Rock Band you have to turn on DD5.1 if you want it....

I don't know why anyone wouldn't want too, the thing I like about RB when you get the bar full is the crowd noise and singing levels go up. That sounds great on surround.

When I go back and play GH3 you only ever get that feeling with star power.

Mind you with the drums I prefer the noise coming straight at me as I sit a couple of feet from the screen but when I guitar I play 8 feet from the screen.

Weird, only thing I can think of is that it grabs your world tour settings when the demo is launched because I know all of the audio settings in the demo are inaccessible. Do you have dolby enabled on world tour?

Cannot wait to give this a go!! I hope the drumming is good; guitar sounds a bit rubbish from the sounds of it, although there are much better songs on the game.

Is Expert + available for drums in the demo?
