Guitar Rig 2

Ok kids went to bed at 7:00, I downloaded a backing track and made something up, uploading now :)

Slightly more uptempo than I usually like....hence the general rubbishness :D

watch this space.

Ermm...here is Staring Dog Blues:

Please take note about half way through when I ran out of different things to play, it takes a real musical genius to simply play the same note over and over:D

I added a video so it would get the MTV exposure it so obviously deserves.

Oh and by the way, only the lead parts are me :)..and that's my dog Bentley!

how do you connect your guitar to your computer?

gonna record something more like me hopefully later :)

This is my general guitar sound i work with on GR2.

A bit of a hendrixy jam thing. there's a bit of 'univibe' effect on the whole thing, which is virtually unnoticeable but gives a nice edge..

I'd be interested to hear some peoples amplitube 2 patches. i had version 1 but i hated it :P..

Edit.. the wah is a Budda Bud wah.. but the GR2 wahs aint too bad.
If I could get anywhere near that sound I would probably play more. I'm guessing it's my cheap ass guitar.

What's your set up?

Recording Set up is..

Les Paul>Bud-Wah>Soundcraft Spirit Mixer>Delta 1010lt soundcard (using cubase sx 3 to host GR2 and other things)

Live..

Les Paul>Bud-Wah>Boss GT-6>JCM 800 through 4x12" Marshall 'B' Cab.

GR2 has helped me out loads.. i can now play guitar with headphones and not cringe at the awful sound!

Missed that post I think!

I'm at work now and can't listen atm.:(

Straight into the line in on the front panel of an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum I don't record audio in Cubase though I tend to go through Guitar Rig as an effects processor and then line out to a Tascam 788. I find this a much easier way to record because I know the Tascam inside out, it does have the disadvantage of me then having to send it back to the PC in real time.

the tascam probably has better recording quality anyway, and then you can hear yourself playing which is what I'm struggling with atm.

It is better quality but it can't improve on the output of the soundcard, I think the Audigy 2ZS can only record at 16/48000 (Tascam is 24bit) I'm not sure what the output from Guitar Rig is, either way it sounds ok with a bit of faffing around, that clip was a bit plug and play really, I didn't really spend any time setting things up.

I don't quite see why you can't hear yourself play, what's the problem?

I dont use amplitube 2 in a live mode liek you do, I record into guitar tracks pro 3 and then apply effects aftwerwould, therefore I can't really hear how it will sound.
