So the question then is, what is it about this PC that they couldn't find in Ireland (or anywhere closer to home, rather than on the farthest side of England)?

Is it massively under priced? Incredibly rare?

If it were some rare watch, or an individual artists work etc then that makes sense. A generic PC? Not so much.

Yeah was female. Wouldn't fall for that, women are the evilest of animals so I wouldn't doubt for a second she could have been a scammer.

She pulled out once I mentioned wanting to see the money cleared and in my bank account before I send, like @Dangerous Dave said.

I would have used the courier we use for work so a claim would have had to be started by myself anyway, but alas, all drama has been avoided as she's pulled out. Sorry, no juicy drama for the hungry wolves of OcUK today :p

Who knows? Maybe she's heard of my legendary PC building ways? Found me on Facebook and thinks i'm a stud and wants to sniff the PC? Unfortunately, we shall never know :(

Morons.

Nobody on gumtree has any money.

I've said it before you could put a solid gold brick on gumtree for £5 and the best offer you would get is a £1 and when they turn up they will ask for best price and offer 50p.

It's best used for just getting rid of tat cheaply or for free.

Otherwise eBay all the way when there is a £1 offer on.

I just sold 2 items on eBay for more than what I paid for then several years ago.

On gumtree the best offer I would have gotten was like £50 Vs the £400+ I got on eBay.
 
why are you selling on gumtree?
can you not sell on ebay where there is more security?

i only ever use gumtree when i want to sell something that i don't want to post
 
I now used Facebook marketplace on a cash on collection basis. Ebay have introduced their own payment systems so not sure if they do the whole paypal guarantee. Bank transfers - they will claim they never sent it and they have been hacked. Resulting in you losing the money and them getting it back

It's really hard to claim you have been hacked these days.

Especially if your bank requires authentication by passwords, text messages to your phone as well as using a little gadget that requires your bank card and pin number.

How did the hackers get your pin number?
