Interesting, thanks Neil! I do not get that screen, so I take back what I said before apologies about that... I wonder if that is what NOD32 is blocking for me?
No worries thanks for the apology

Yesterday MSE did detect Open Candy as ad-ware I can only assume it was from an old install of Driversweeper.FnF said:As the developer of Driver Sweeper I need to clarify some information posted in this thread.
First of all, I'd like to thank Nelly for creating this thread but I also find it important for the users here to give my (sometimes personal) view into this subject.
Guru3D
The problems with Guru3D started a long time ago (even before OpenCandy, which I will explain later), sometimes this was my own fault but it was mostly due to Hilbert from Guru3D. I will not go into depth in all these problems but I can say that issues like this occurred several times and usually got resolved after a couple of days because Hilbert changed his mind later (which is very common). This resulted in Driver Sweeper being taken of Guru3D several times and then readded on Guru3D on a later date.
OpenCandy
OpenCandy was added to the installer (the executable is free of OpenCandy) of Driver Sweeper in version 2.5.0. Hilbert quickly added the new versions and no comments were made about the new installer. However, when I uploaded version 2.6.0 for him he quickly responded that he didn't want to have OpenCandy in the installer. I talked about it and defended my position (which I will explain later) and he consisted in removing OpenCandy from the installer. Because I wanted to leave OpenCandy in the installer he decided to ban me from his forums. After a few days he responded again that it was fine if I only kept webbrowsers active in OpenCandy, which I was against as my, fair, offer was to only keep the most well known software products in it which OpenCandy can offer. He did not agree with this and when I had enough I asked him to take down the website and application. He never responded back so I asked him several times again to remove it but I never got an answer on it. I had enough with Hilbert and decided I'd leave it as it is currently and host it completely on my website.
Now, why OpenCandy might some ask? Well, developing Driver Sweeper is not free and takes a lot of effort. In the recent years I had quite some offers to include toolbars and other shady applications to bundle with the installer. I never accepted this because I dislike toolbars and other bundled applications. However, around version 2.5.0 I was contacted by OpenCandy and I did a lot of research into this and I found it (and still do) the best solution for a balance between some revenues and nothing at all. Most users here have no clue what OpenCandy actually does and how it works so I will try to explain it in a few steps. OpenCandy only consists of a DLL file, which is integrated in the installer. I have to enter two keys in the installer which are bound to my account at OpenCandy. Now OpenCandy tracks some information which some users here seem to be offended by. This is weird because OpenCandy hardly tracks anything, it tracks whether or not you installed an offer, which OS version you are using, your OS language, how long it took to install and some timezone information. This is all that is collected, not even IP addresses are collected. For your interest, if you are against this you should disconnect from the internet immediately as way more information is tracked on the internet. The offers OpenCandy makes are mostly based on the OS language, which is not bad, considering that Google does advertising based on your email/search content. That said, the offers made my OpenCandy are mostly opt-in by default, some are opt-out and best of all, nothing is integrated in the installer. Only when you want to have it installed the application is downloaded and installed through OpenCandy. This also means that nothing is left behind on your system.
Antivirus
Some AV software is blocking some OpenCandy addresses (Like ESET does), well you can either ignore the actions or let the AV block the addresses. This is also the strong point of OpenCandy, when no internet connection is available (or the addresses are blocked), nothing is sent to OpenCandy and no offers are made. So basically, when you don't want it, just block the installer from internet access and you are fine. I don't care what you prefer, but please keep in mind that developing it is not free and when a suggestion is made you might find interesting, please accept it to support future developmentNow, some people got reports from Microsoft Security products, this is resolved as can be found in the article above, and the new OpenCandy version is accepted by Microsoft as a save and clean application. FYI, Kaspersky, Microsoft and AVG all have interest in OpenCandy, so if you don't trust OpenCandy, do you trust those (AV) companies?
Bottom line, you have to accept for yourself what you want to do with this information. From all offers I got (and declined), OpenCandy is by far the most reliable and best company for all users. Don't forget that OpenCandy helps developers to continue developing their applications for free for all of you... Now, if you have anymore questions, just ask and I'll try to answer them but please don't make this into a flameware which I am highly against.
Hilbert is a ****, he allows rampant abuse, trolling on his forum and what's even more incredible the forum has actually banned the word overclockers.co.uk!!!. Him and Unwinder go well together, the developer of that afterburner software has a very bad attitude problem not only does he talk down to people he comes across with an attitude like derek smart. That guy has some talent but he treats people with problems as children thus i'm Not impressed.

This isn't really on topic buy why do people use 'Driver Sweeper'? Is it that hard to uninstall drivers and then remove traces of them manually?
I wonder if that's his real name?!Hilbert Hagedoorn is an idiot.
I don't know to be honest, it was good piece of kit when XP was around as when swapping between AMD and Nvidia and vice versa driver conflicts were common place. However with the advent of Windows 7 which allows you to run both Nvidia and AMD drivers harmoniously (for video, GPGPU, STREAM and CUDA etc) the usefulness of applications like Driver Sweeper is redundant IMO.
Erm, it has potential to be a great website with excellent resources.
It's mostly the reviews, most bias Pos reviews ever.
