Guy Ritchie's The Covenant

Did not feel like a Guy Richie film at all, played very flat compared to previous stylised efforts. Somewhat enjoyable but seemed very thin on actual action or deft dialogue, just lots of moody looks.

I wasn't overly impressed. There were some good parts, but the scenes with the slow mo shots and the music playing got boring after a while. I wasn't hooked. 5/10.

They should have called it “Guy Ritchie’s Lone Survivor meets Sicario”. That said I love those movies so still found it enjoyable and Dar Salim was very good. Some of the CGI was absolute garbage.

Agreed on the CGI, the helicopters were terrible!

I enjoyed it, but it seemed a little sloppy in places and the lack of recoil on the guns bothered me quite a lot, and it’s not something I usually notice. Did a google and it’s supposedly because of the Rust incident. Guy Ritchie won’t use real guns on his sets anymore.

It sounds like it's probably just a lower budget version of a similar story.

Curious if anyone has seen it (without spoilers please).

Its quite middling, starts really well but peters off and a touch dull. Theres a few ok set pieces, but The Covenant is better.

The story is fairly different bar having a translator involved.
