I wouldn't date a girl that was really into football, it's ok in small quantities but people going on about it all the time is just annoying.

I get off very lightly on Valentine's day. It's barely even noticed in most countries, and my Danish girlfriend wondered what the hell i was on about the first time it came around after we got together! We simply ignore it for the most part now, maybe a card and flowers, but if i forget then it's not a big deal at all :)

OP, if you're desperate to do something special then just do it the next day... or when she gets home. Or just go with...
