H1Z1 - Zombie apocalypse sandbox from SOE

Ive only just got this the last few days. mot normally my type of game however i have been enjoying it..

last night however i was pinned in my shack which i built with a tree right in front of my door, no axe and 4 or 5 people out side the door taking the pee right out of me lol... needless to say they starved me out and shot me dead...


then played battle royale and some how came 13th killed about 4 people in the process...

Got an annoying bug that has just started tonight, when I load up H1Z1 and just before I press to continue to load server browser, the screen does a single purple flash.
 
Have they upped the zombie count on this, I logged in with a new char, I didn't have time to do anything, zombies after me as I spawned in. they killed me I had no where to run or go.

Yeah, the zombie servers have been upped a bit. :p

It's actually quite ridiculous how many zombies there are now, but I find it's actually more fun! :D
 
Not played this game for ages,Joined a server last night and spawned right in the middle of about 20 zombies..one was walking right next to me.

What kind of spawn is that lol..i couldn't get away from them,Just gave up and logged off.

i feel its become too hard now..i wont play it until they drop the number of zombies.

Made zombie total population based on player population, to keep low-pop servers from getting completely overrun. This does not include the current wandering hordes (which are accounted for outside this number). On a server full of players, the total number of zombies is unchanged.

Biased zombie spawns toward areas with more player heat, and more items, so that cities, camps and player firefights have the highest rate of zombie spawns, and the wilderness areas have less.

Made the spawned zombies that occur in player spawn areas biased more toward low-speed shamblers, so that new players (with no weapons) can more easily run away.

Tell ya what there is no pleasing people...all of the games prior to this hasn't had enough zombies or no real threat.

They put the count up and then people complain and don't want to go back. Just spawn and hit the ground running, then take a break to loot up simples.

As the developers said in the live feed, they turned the zombies up to it's max level to test the players reaction and the server performance.

1) It's all very well saying there is no pleasing people but the issue is three fold, firstly the re-spawn was one issue especially for new spawns. You'd kill a Zombie, then 5 more would spawn in thin air very close to you. As a new player this isn't very fun as you only have your fists and you cant kill as quick as they respawn.

2) The Zombie count was also wrong for player count, servers with hardly any players were getting thousands of Zombies, while high player servers hardly any Zombies.

3) The Zombies were also not doing as they were supposed to, they were not hording in areas of high heat, action etc just spawning on mass every where :D

Neil's post on the changes to the zombie spawns are from todays patch so if play it again to see what its like. Thats if the the post was based of yesterdays behaviour.

TBH I've not his the mas respawn after you kill a zombie issue. I'm just enjoying the the increased numbers

This was dependant on the server, as was stated...

Last Weekend :
On Kiev, hardly any Zombies, not much respawning
On BarZelona, lots and lots of Zombies, sometimes 40 per player respawning at a rate of 3 per min
On Abandoned, hardly any, VERY HIGH player count
