@petey, is your 140mm k2 fan blades perhaps sitting a bit proud? Helios and myself found this with some of the Alpenfohn fans. Im gonna use my two blue 120mm wingboosts as top exhausts. Replace the horrible looking red xilence fans in there.

No, it's an internal issue. It did it intermittently at certain speeds whether I had it on the centre of the cooler or as a case exhaust. It's not the famous PWM tick issue either...
No real biggie though as I have plenty of other fans sitting spare at the moment. Got 6 WB 120's and a couple of TY140's lol

Gonna grab a pair of TY147's for the colour I think.

Got quite a few wb's now as well. But tbh, i cant see me in any hurry to change the current piranhas on the k2. Simply amazing. Hitting 69c on the highest core at 100% load at 4.5ghz. On the 3570k which is notoriously hot, and a case with abysmal airflow.

Yeah, the Shinobi (non xl) is one of the reasons that the Dual X temps were as high as they are on that chart I posted. I think that was with the side panel off too as I distinctly recall hitting 99c odd on the VRM's at one point with the panel on...

Like I said before though, it would be interesting to see what a TY-147 could do compared to the Piranhas. I reckon there wouldn't be much in it and there's a fair difference in rpm.
Still, the Piranha fan blades do look very well suited to the task.

TY-147 and piranha would be an interesting comparison. The thermalright would certainly be quieter. I can see, (more feel lol) why the akasas are called piranhas, the toothed section on the blade is pretty sharp for moulded plastic. It's not a fan id like to get a finger stuck in.

Been thinking also, i use two silverstone air penetrator 120's in the front of the case. Would be interesting to see how theese perform on the k2. They are a focused airflow design fan. Great for pushing air through restricted spaces.

I'm looking for some review sites where i can post the bad customer service that this special company provided me. Anyone got any suggestions?

Just want to warn people to avoid them to avoid the hassles that ive had to go through.
