Had enough of firefox...

What makes you think they're using Windows?

Opera is good, it's very innovative and is often the first to bring along features that will appear in other browsers before too long, like Turbo and mouse movements, but after using it for a few months i thought it's interface looked a bit dated and 'chunky', so now i'm using Chromium.

if people say they think ff has a memory leak, would that mean if it's kept open forever the memory will usage will just conitune to rise and rise until there is no more left? i haven't switched my pc off for almost a week now and it's had hundreds of tabs open in that time, often left with 20 open over night. current usage is 262,216k with 8 tabs open. would that suggest a memory leak?

sorry if i sound alittle noobish with this

My FF has been crashing a lot lately.
Just made the switch over to Chrome after confirmation of adblock extension working like FF. Just use FF but more on Chrome these days.

I've used firefox for years, recently switched to chome, with some add-ons I much prefer it to firefox, and always slated it in the past!

Chrome is much faster - but you can't save sessions of tabs like Opera.

Though saying that Opera still has some compatability problems. I still can't edit an eBay listing page with it. Nor use Tesco's search function for some reason.

Edit - I've had rubbish problems with Flash and Opera too, though seemingly few others have :p :(

Have to admit the last few versions of Firefox have been pretty bad for me - I've actually started to use Internet Explorer more because of it - which I absolutely loathe. :(

Same here, FF crashes 10 times daily.

But i wont go back to IE, find safari washed out and never settled with opera or chrome.

That's odd! I don't think Opera has ever crashed and I usually have 30+ tabs open!

It does have some slight compatibility issues though, but nothing that causes much hassle tbh.

OK Chrome has changed a lot since I last used it, I think I'll go with this for a few days, lightening fast and even opens PDF's which FF has struggled with for some time.

The flashing refresh is a bit annoying though

All browsers have their faults, without exception. I saw a recent report that suggested IE8 and Firefox got a similar number of security advisories - whether you take that to mean Firefox got more problems or IE got less, your call. :)

Deleting your FF profile will probably fix the crashing. I'll probably do this myself - I have the same version of FF on several PCs - one crashes regularly, the others just don't.
