Had iTouch stolen, any point in reporting it?

What would be the point in reporting it to the Police? So they can come round, tell me there's nothing they can do and be on their way? I don't live in an area where crime is regular, in fact quite the opposite, this is more than likely a case of some kids who decided to mess around in the early hours of the morning and then got the train back to the depths of the bad end of Liverpool.

Reporting it would only achieve wasting my own time surely?

If everyone around your area was the same then there would be a lot of crime but reported crime would be very low. Thats not a good thing.

Well there's even less they can do if you don't report it.

If you don't report it the Police are blind to any possible issues in the area.
