Had the Octavia vRS remapped

Different turbos on different engines - 150bhp are usually K03, 180 are K03s and 225 are K04.

Randell - great results from that remap. Seriously makes me wonder if I should go the same route (also have a 180bhp 1.8T).

Out of interest, what have all those mods done to your insurance premium?

Insurance would have been around £450 standard and I will be paying around £650 when renewal comes around end of next month.

Not so bad when I paying £1000+ for the ITR a few years back.

They are not all the same engine apart from different turbo's

The internals are different also in some

The 225 Leon cupra R engine is known to have weaker conrods than the 210bhp Leon Cupra R engine.

Didnt realise that the 225 was weaker than a 210

I have seen a mk2 Golf gti with a remapped 225 engine; iirc the guy claimed 280bhp :D

That is what most 225 LCR's will achieve when they are REVO'd iirc.

Not bad at all for the power gains you got - should be similar for me then, currently paying £430 FC with protected bonus.

Randal, do you prefer the ITR or the VRS and which ever you choose, why?

Well the ITR was a totally different kind of car, so any real comparisment isn't fair on both cars.

The ITR handling is in a totally different league, don't think the vRS could even match it after spending thousands of dollars on setting it up to handle, but thats not saying the vRS can't handle it's just a unfair car too base it's handling on coming from a ITR!

The power as anyone N/A vrs Turbo will say is just totally different, before the remap I would have said the ITR was my favourite kind of delivery, but this remap might just change that, I need to give it a few weeks to see what it's like.

From 0-60mph now I think the vRS would be failry even with the ITR just pulling away, but anything from rolling, the vRS is going to pull away, and after about 80mph the vRS will be be saying cheerio very quickly. 2nd gear in the vRS gives around 75mph and 3rd 110mph, where as the ITR needed shifting to third at 58mph and fourth wasnt a very long gear either.

I do miss the ITR, but that's not too say if I went back to one I'd want the vRS back, like I said two vey different cars. In a ideal world the ITR would be kept for track days and mountain driving and the vRS as a motorway Q car.
