hailea chiller project

hey schizo
the rad i had pre chiller was a tfc 360, it gave good temps but as you can see from one of the photos it really needed a clean although i blew it out every month or so with compressed air....maybe should have stripped it back every 6 months on hind sight:)
the control i have over temps now is amazing though i can drop 10c in the touch of a button or more

how loud is the chiller?

This is pretty awesome, made even better by the fact you live in Edinburgh!! :D

good old edinburgh :) fantastic city

its under my floor so I cant really hear it at all to be honest. its a great piece of kit and works a treat need to keep an eye on temps though because if you go more than 10c below your ambient you start to hit dew point...my wife turned up the heating a couple of degrees and i noticed a blob of condensation forming on one of my bitspower fittings so i turned of and set the chiller 2 degs higher and its fine now

I'm sorry to hear that you've had problems with your hardware :(

I'm really looking forward to hearing about the new hardware when you get it :D I bet it will be amazingly quick :D I look forward to hearing about a few comparisons :D

thanks mate :)

Well I look forward to seeing a few benchies and a list of games your looking to try out on it :D

There's some serious bending going on with the 6990!!

What are you currently running the CPU at??

yeah it looks worse in the pic than it actually is...its not bent but just not lined up straight..i will straighten it tomorrow.
cpu currently at 4750mhz @ 1.264v
had it at 5250mhz @ 1.44v
have yet to play with the newest addition to the cooling :)

cpu is a rocket
i got it for £550 retail...what a bargain (so to speak)
just got 2 x dominator cooling blocks to keep the ram chilled
so now cooling:
vga
cpu
mosfets
southbridge
2 x ram banks

That is just ultra impressive :D

What size screen do you game with? Multiple 24"s or a single 30" or something in between??

My idle temps are about the same as your load temps!! :p But I suppose 4.7Ghz isnt to be stiffed at for an i7 :) Its a bit old now tho ;)

i have a 27" samsung 950d 3d monitor and its very very nice :)

its only 1980 x 1080p but its 120hz and 3d
i had a hp ips 30" screen in the past and its as good as that with 3d...i may buy another in future for a dual screen setup..
are your dells u3011? :)

this is at stock 6990 and 3960x at 4.75ghz
im playing sonic generations and need for speed the run just now but im 7 days at work just now so not getting much gaming time at all

Glad I made the right choice, it was one of the easier picks, better performance and cheaper than the EK HF blocks :)

The LED's are a nice touch too, adds a nice under-glow to it.

can take 4 leds on it and they only give you 2...it just so happens i have 1 set of dual blue leds left for sale on members market :) whats the chances?

I'd love an upgrade but I sadly wont be able to afford one for a long time!! Girl friends are awesome but mine gave me a present I never thought I would have so I'm saving for that instead now!!

Oh your GPU score I'm surprised at not being a bit higher with that 6990, is it overclocked?

congrats mate :)

6990 is totally stock
could move the switch over but theres not really any need

kids are ace mate...youll love it

i spent friday night re building my 12 year olds rig....bought him a haf x and changed it all over with his help..loved every minute of it.

i will flick the switch, ramp it up and re-run 3d mark :)
