FEAR made me cack my pants when that girl turned up
I stopped playing FEAR as soon as that guy hit me with a stick :o

Nearly finished Episode 1, i'm in the hospital so dunno how much further i've got to go. I would have finished it by now if my addiction to COD2 wasn't so bad :(

Wow just completed this game now, i was trying to do it slow but still ended up completing it in no time at all. It was a good game though and fairly challenging. I cant wait for ep 2 now.

I finished it yesterday the ending just left me like --> x 1000

The puzzles seemed pretty well thought out, i might play through it again with commentary this time.

I was quite shocked how short it was but defo worth the money as it was action packed from the start. I think ill play through again but on hard this time, medium was a little too easy. Does anyone know when Episode 2 will be out?.

I was a little disappointed by this episode. There wasn't really much progress with the story - the explanation of how Alyx escaped the blast and you got away from G-man were a little lame. Although I'm guessing this may make more sense retrospectively in the next two episodes.

The levels were fun but not mind blowingly great. I have to admit I enjoyed that that busted elevator/zombies in the dark level - and I'm usually a big wimp when it comes to monsters and zombies

My biggest disappointment was the lack of new characters/creatures. There was all this talk about the Stalkers and then you don't even get to face off against them! There was even the tease of the baby-walker in the video feed but it never came to anything. In fact, all we got was a super-zombie with grenades...!

The general consensus is the middle part of a trilogy is usually the slowest, but I'm hoping to get a few new surprises with Episode 2.

Im so close to finishing HL2 so i can play this game, but im stuck!

At the top of the Citadel. this 'singualrity' thing is slowly rising, and i have to stop it. Or something. So im stood on this balcony thing with my insanely powerful gravity gun, and that bird (Alex?) is stood in a room behind me. How do i stop the big shiny ball from completing the thing its doing? All i have to work with are those small orange balls of energy.

Just keep going up using the moving platforms if I know where u mean. A screenshot would help as I just recently complete HL2 and still not sure where u mean. U know u can grab the energy balls with the gravity gun right?

IMO the hardest part is jumping over a low fence or step when jump no longer works, use debris to walk on/shoot urself over.

Yeh ive got past the moving platforms bit, literally at the top of the citadel. The 'singualrity' ball of enrgy thing is moving up, while the area above it turns into a large orange glowing unbrella of energy (rofl?) and the crazy grey haired guy who is leader of the world is saying distracting things to me.

I am aware of the grabability of the energy balls, but they dont do anything to help me at this point.

Sorry if this makes no sense at all :p i will take a screenshot soon if nobody knows what im dribbling on about!

You fire the energy balls at the "blades" of the shield that are surrounding Dr. Breen's portal thingy. There are probably about 8 in all. They look like triangles.

Apologies if this has been asked, but I dont really want to read thru the entire thread (feeling lazy :()

What is better/cheaper to buy? thru steam or from a shop? how much does it work out to via steam?

i think i will save it until i get a x1900, well, actually my 850xt pe handled lost coast fine so i may eb alright, this is no more taxing than lost coast is it?

I have the same card as you - the only slowdown occured in the reactor core in the Citadel. Everything else was superb and I was running at 1920x1200 with everything maxed.

Through steam as you get the american prices and the exchange rate is prettey nice for us right now. It'll work out at around £12.50 inc vat from steam.

I found Lost Coast WAAAY more demanding than Ep1. I found Ep1 about 5 - 10% more demanding than HL2.

Only once you have purchased Episode 1, will it show in steam as being available for downloading.

Ok I worded that wrong, I cant get to purchase Episode1 through steam

I open steam, go to store, click on Episode 1, click purchase and it throws back a 'Page cannot be displayed' screen

Going through the website gives a 'Steam is not a registered protocol' message

:(
