I was just looking through my old folders and found a few HL2 screenshots I took a few days after release (So no graphical mods/enhancements...etc)

Look at it, it looks amazing. I've just been playing Halo 3 and HL2 in these screens looks far, far better and it's much, much older too.

ep2 has some dx10 functions, but devs say you probably wouldnt notice the difference between that and the dx9 mode.

good or bad thing? not sure till i see it really

Absolutely fantastic game, was hooked on the first Half Life series and the HL2 did not dissapoint. Best bit for me was the journey through the citadel when you get in the pod thingy and it goes up and down and round, the detail, sound and atmosphere built an electric tension in anticipation of what lay ahead.

Funnily enough though I hated ravenholm (not least because it scared the **** out of me) the first time but enjoyed it the 2nd.

It's funny because I felt the same, those roof raiding ones scared the crap out of me.

Just got done on Ep.1 - Again really enjoyed it, if a little short but I guess it's not a full game and its cheap so seems fair enough.

Was a bit shocked when it ended, wanted the story to continue, really looking forward to Ep.2 now

Gotta admit those screenies look damn good. Tempted to play through the game again prior to ep2 as (ep1 aside) I haven't played it since 2004.
