Half-Life 3 confirmed!

Just checked mine and it states 13 Sept 2003 @ 4:56pm. Not sure what the significance of that day was, HL2 preload or access to something related to that? Can not recall now.

I got Half-Life 2 as a Christmas present the year of release so yeah coming up to 20 years myself.
I was still on dial-up so it took a very long time to install and update, needless to say I was not a fan of Steam on release lol

I'm just trying to think what graphics card I had at the time... I might have still been running a MX440

I remember buying Half Life 2 "twice" on release day...

I went to the bank and got the money out. Printed a mini statement that I don't normally do.

Walked off reading the mini statement and forgot the money. Went back money was gone so took it out again and bought it.

Not done that before or since lol.

Played through the Borealis Prologue last night. I think they've done pretty well capturing the feel of the HL2 series, the efforts they've gone to with the menu system etc are noted. However, it all feels a little bit "uncanny valley" as it's a bit off. Minor complaint though.

The world is very good, it feels like another Source technology iteration like we had between HL2 -> EP1 -> EP2 and as such it feels natural. Gun play is pretty good, I think the pistol is spot on but the shotgun felt off. It was either the rate of fire, or the reload but it didn't feel right.

All in all, I'm excited to see where it goes. Shows a lot of promise, and a lot of effort has gone in to realising the potential of the story.
