Half price frames me a curry.

Im quite into my currys (i have about one a week) but ive never been able to handle vindaloo, tried it a few times.

Ohh and most Indian restaurants do a “special” naan, the restaurant we normally go to does one that has whole pieces of chicken tikka, chilli’s, peppers, onion and is slightly cheesy. But that aint healthy at all lol

Im the same, i have usually 1 a week as takeaway and once a week we go to the curry restaurant in town. I usually always get chicken Dopiazi Madras hot or chicken bhuna madras hot with keema pilau and pashwari naan. I have tried a vindaloo twice and neither time did i enjoy it, it was unbeleivably hot, i could finish it but it would be a struggle. Restaurant curry's are usually hotter than takeaways i find, so i vindaloo in a restaurant will usually be of the map.

I also found getting stuff vindaloo hot such as a dopiazi was never as hot as an actuall vindaloo.

If it where me and my first curry most are medium hot by default, there isnt much in it to be honest, you will be fine with mose dished heat wise but you may find madras hot too much to start with.

This is the choice for Curry virgin, its not creamy (since you don't want it), not too spicy (it's more a tomatoe and herb base), with meat and rice, so its filling too.

Lamb Tikka Sally?

think thats it..

Tikka Lamb, so not creamy with a topping of crispy potato.. its good stuff!

But then i dont really think of it as a proper curry.. proper curry always makes me think of creamy stuff.

vindaloo if u dont mind drinking 2pints while eating your dinner and having sweats and a burning ring the next day.

madras or jalfrazi for medium hot (these are both excellent).

rogan josh for wimps, who like it with barely any heat. but!!! this is a very nice tasting curry.

You can't beat tikka meat & it's apparently healthier than just normal meat, so something like a Chicken Tikka Karahi (Korai) would be good if you're too gay to try the hot stuff:)

I've never understood the macho BS that resides with eating spicy food.. why eat something that will hurt you whilst you eat it, burning your taste buds into numbeness so you can't taste anything anyway, and then hurt you again the following morning at the other end? To show off?

If you want something quite mild, go for a chicken korma. Personally, I think the best way to go is mix a load of sauces with rice and some naan bread. Yum!

Korma,
Rougon Josh
Jalfrezi
Madras
Tikka
etc

EDIT: Nearly forgot the Tikka!!

now this man knows what he's talking about!

Korma has cocunut in it,

Lamb madras tbh :)

Best to avoid korma if you don't like coconut, as most kormas contain coconut. You could look at any of the following:

Tiger Khan - medium sweet
Mohanwala - mild with cheese (yes cheese but it tastes great)
Biryani - medium, drier meat served with vegetable curry and rice
Tandoori - marinated in spiced yoghurt, mild/medium

Favourite side dish - Mator Ponir (Peas, onions & cheese)

Chicken tikka Nepali, pretty spicy so avoid if you aren't a fan of spicy food. My personal favourite though, has a lovely variety of tastes rather than, what i consider to be a little bland, Vindaloo

I would suggest that ......

1) You go to an up market/well known/popular restaurant where the staff will be more than happy to advise you.
2) As has been stated, choose chapatis (not rice) and scoop with those to eat + fork if you must.

Enjoy your meal and maybe ask to try a taste of other people's stuff too. ;)
