I treated myself to a long overdue mini tool overhaul - 150 Piece Halfords Advanced set and case for a mere £99 in store down from £199. There isn't much missing from it.

Bit of a spontaneous buy, I only went in for a swan-neck spanner but I've been meaning to buy something a bit more portable for a while now.

They also have smaller kits on offer.

It's a great kit, you'd have to be a loon to pay full £200 as they're on offer 364 days of the year near enough :P

thats the one i got.

ive opened the wrong side quite a few times, its the worse feeling seeing a million bits scatter :D

I bought the older version of this set back in 2006, got it for £90 (down from £199, and I paid in cash - cashier counted it wrong twice and gave me a tenner back?!).

The hinges are dead on the box, but the tools are good - only ever broke one thing and that was one of the E bits (flippin Smart car!) - which was exchanged with no quibbles!

I have the same tool set also, it's been brilliant and have hardly had to buy any other tools. A very capable set.

Got mine nearly 2 years ago now and abused all the tools inappropriately, none have broke yet, just a few rusty bits from leaving odd piece outside!

This is a much better set

I've got old stuff in seperate sets and sizes, but some of my bigger spanners came later when they had moved onto 'advanced' stuff instead of professional.

Does the same job of course, but drives my OCD neurons crazy.

The amount of times I have opened the case upside down and all the sockets have fallen out :p

Bought a cheap cabinet too which is serving me well.

Rumour has it these are the same tools that are made for Snap-on but rebranded as Halfords, no idea how much truth in that there is.
