Vs the needler always move perpendicular to the needles and they pretty much never hit you.
 
As Kreeeee said just keep moving to the side and never straight forwards or backwards since every one will hit you if you do that. The only time they ever get me is by surprise from behind.

Another thing you could do is move around a corner when they begin firing and leave a plasma grenade on the floor, the stupid ones always fall for it :)

The only times you should jump would be to avoid things like grenades and to reach higher ground.

You jump around in the middle of a one on one fight and start spamming grenades you're as good as dead, since any decent player will just stand back and avoid them and return fire at range.

For the needler depending on your surroundings you should either seek cover behind something or if its a wide open area strafe to the side perpendicular to the attacker. Also never turn your back and always return fire while doing either of the above.

Jumping is only useful with a rocket launcher and melees for extra power. Other wise you 'float' for a while and are and easy target. Although close combat jumping can confuse the opponent
 
I jump a lot in close combat situations, as I find the enemy misses my head a lot more. Bumper Jumper helps with this but everyone has different playing styles.
 
I started playing the MP of this over the weekend. I'm absolutely rubbish.

Can you sprint?
People keep hitting me rather than shooting.
Why have I got "X51" next to my name and how do I change my suit colour and emblem?
Is there a "quick game" option?

It's weird.

Showing your age, when asking if there is a sprint button in an FPS game. I cant even remember when sprint was an actual button, Quake1?

Yeah I jump often too - and it works, If someone knows you're round a corner and either they are coming for you or you're going for them - jump and go round the corner it really throws them off balance :D

But you don't sprint in Halo 3, it's more like a saunter.

The implementation in CoD4 works well, you can only sprint short distances and can't fire while sprinting.
 
guys...iv been reading this thread for a while now. If any of you think your good then send me a freinds request. my tag "ADZ UK" i play with the best halo3 players in the uk...ranging from team devastation to catch22..."they have been on xleague.tv" Im not saying im god on the game but i know i can handle myself. Would be good to get some customs goin.
