HALO 3 Official Thread

People complain Gears looked awesome but played like a generic shooter, nothing special, now we have good gameplay and not outstanding graphics and they still arent happy!

Both of us have been playing it for 3 years (and more with Halo 1) so we know more or less what to expect from the graphics and quite honestly while I was playing the campaign I thought to myself "hey this looks just like Halo 2" (Not that its a bad thing because I still think Halo 2 looks damn good even 3 years after its release)

I wasn't blown away by the graphics, but I wasnt expecting to be anyway :)

Just read that back to myself and it sounds like I'm disappointed with the graphics, which I'm not I think they are damn good. I was just trying to say I had my own idea of how it was going to turn out so I wasnt disappointed like the people expecting it to be 'next gen' as they so put it.

Well I and many others enjoy it a lot more then the 'non-generic' shooters out there.

(This part isnt aimed at you or anyone else :))

I see people always bashing Halo saying it sucks, its generic, "Half-life pwnz GAYLO!!!" etc Well good for you if they are so damn great go play them. I just don't understand why people hate on it so much? It's fine if they don't like it, but I've seen so many people go out of their way to bash it that its just sad... :/

I'm not particularly fond of a lot of popular titles, doesnt mean I go out of my way to discredit them.
 
Theres a lot of people saying the game runs at 30fps be it sp or mp. Love to know how they know this seeing as i dont see any kind of built in framerate counter. :confused:
 
I've been enjoying single player on heroic and 4 player co-op to be great deal. Starting on heroic cause im a bit rusty, then Legendary all the way. Halo is one of those games that just gets better and better the harder the difficulty.

Theatre mode is awesome.
 
Well for someone who wasnt into the Halo series, briefly played halo and halo2 on my bros original xbox....i have to say im quite impressed with halo3...now im wondering why i didnt take much of an interest in the series before.

Gfx wise its ok, nothing on GOW tbqh...i noticed one little gfx bug in SP mode...so far thats all my experience entails:p...the lizard guy that with u..i noticed if u go up to him look at his eyes when they turn to the other side...theres an empty space there....but as i said gfx wise it hasant blown me away...didnt think it would tbh.

Buit so far enjoying the SP mode on it, not that easy as im playing legendary mode...but ive only got through 10% of it i think.

Still like the game, need to join in some MP games at some pooint even tho i suck at it lol:p
 
Don't know what all the fuss is about. It's good yea, but it's not fantastic. It's also getting pretty tired, it's just more of the same.

Maybe, just maybe, Microsoft will actually make a profit with this one. Been a long time coming :p
 
The pace is excellent. Not a hint of lag either. I'm sure if I'd had the first xbox I wouldve understood and enjoyed this game more. I guess you guys have grown up with the series so thats why you love it.

For a new player coming in, it just feels old.

It just didnt seem tactical at all to me, a free for all. Naturally the best players got more kills but not at all tactical from a team point of view.

I am itching to play this online with you lot (after all the talk of how awesome it is) so would be greatfull of the invite.

Hmm. I've never played a Halo game before so maybe I'm biased, but I LOVED both the graphics and gameplay of GoW, still my no1 HexBox game.

As I said before its worth the cash simply because its hilarious playing with you guys, however if I was against the yanks or other randoms, I don't think I'd be enjoying it. Nor do I think I'm in a rush to play single player.
 
can anyone help me. the sound on mine seems a little off. the sound of the guns firing seems to be very quiet. maybe its just me??? has anyone else noticed this?

i only played for about an hour last night, so just getting into the single player game.

Thats the only reason I bought the game tbh. Yet I found that not having a team live com annoying. If the team aren't next to you you cant talk so sometimes your not sure whether anyone can even hear you.

From what I could gather, anyone on your radar could hear you talk. Got on my bits a tad that voice would chop in and out and never at a consistent level.

I suppose they had to do it to save bandwidth in the game but it made hearing or paticipating in any banter in game, difficult. In the end I just said nothing because I didnt know who could hear what.:(

It's not about the single player. It's the multiplayer that makes Halo as good as it is.

Still you're entitled to your opinion.
