The skin on my hands gets really dry and starts to crack so I'm in need of some decent hand cream. I've tried using generic supermarket (Sainsbury's) brands but they don't seem to do any good.

Can anyone recommend some decent hand cream?

Oh, and before the gay jokes/masturbation jokes/general flaming etc. begins, this is what my knuckles look like right now:

So I'd really appreciate some helpful suggestions too. Cheers.

I use Vaseline healthy hand and nail conditioning. It seems to properly moisturise my hands for a couple of days at a time. It's worth considering.

Can imagine it being worse recently because of the cold weather.

Try emollients from your pharmacy, e.g. E45 or other things.

I don't really use hand cream lol, but what about the one with the adverts where it implies it's designed for Norwegian fisherman?

Unguentum M. Wash your hands first with warm water and let them soak a bit and then fully dry. Apply a bit of this and let it soak in.

Its the only stuff that works for me. E45 is better than most of the stuff you get in Boots etc but its not a patch on the stuff I've linked to. If you go to your GP you might even be able to get it on prescription, I get 2 of these tubs for £7 odd.

^Good advice, a really important factor for all sorts of health reasons, including how well your skin functions is related to how much you drink. Get lots of fluids down you.

Edit - was reading about the importance of water, and bless the internet - this video is where I ended up:
