Hand shaking

I agree. I have to meet a lot of people in my job and I do hate handshaking, the germs!! I swear we could reduce sick rates significantly by stopping handshaking.

At the earliest opportunity I always wash my hands after having shaken hands. I rarely get sick these days, not had a day off work in 4 years.

Ya know, Im sure thats why we have so many allergies and general sickness these days, kids brought up by paranoid parents who compulsivley wash everything down with this anti-bacterial noncence.

Ironicly, a good bit of dirt never hurt anyone...like the guy above said, it helps keep the immune system working properly, you have to be exposed to your surroundings, If you are not, then when you inevitably do come into contact with somthing, it will really mess you up good and proper, your immune system wont know whats hit it :D

Im not OCD like some others here, and I too dont get ill execpt the occasional snivel during winter.

Next time you do a handshake, do it gently and with the middle finger tickling the other person's inner palm and then watch their face freaking out :p

I don't know if they think it's cool or what but I've quite a few asian mates and know a few from work and their handshakes are so limp and so it feels like you've just crushed a woman's hand from using an alpha grip.

Mine is very feeble. Boarderline pathetic I would say. I'm wary (spelling) of people and if I don't know them I try to get out of the handshake as fast as possible. If I know the person it's not so bad, but still pathetic.

I have a good handshake, I got good practice at shaking hands when I was recieving all those awards for my local team.

Was one of them sportsman of the year by any chance?
Your handshake is aight. Only time I remember was when you congratulated me winning bowling. Was a firm handshake but maybe you were doing that on purpose 'cos I won and stuff.

I think one of the biggest issues I have with other peoples' handshakes is the lack of eye contact rather than the action of the handshake.

A firm but not-to-hard shake with good eye contact shows confidence and a level playing field between the two participants.

A lack of eye contact and a limp shake suggests meekness, a lack of eye contact and a hand-crusher suggests arrogance.

Remember folks - look people in the eye when you're shaking their hand.

I prefer the bone-crunching approach to handshakes. Assert yourself as the most alpha and everyone knows their station immediately.

A steady and firm handshake is the way forward.

Only a few people shake harder than me, and I sometimes find myself in a shake 'standoff' where they shake harder, so I turn up the heat in return.

Make them wince.

Remember to pound your chest with your other hand and grunt louder and deeper than them.

I firmly grip their hand, pull it close to my groin and then begin shaking furiously.

I feel that it leaves a lasting impression.

On my groin.

I try to crush the life out of the persons hand, whilst smiling and looking them in the eyes. I didnt get a job once because I out shook the interviewer...
