Hangover Prevention

Seen something similar at a fairground, mate had a few pints and bought some noodles from a stand. Went on this ride where you stand upright against the cage in a big circle. Noodles everywhere, more people being sick because they had sick covered noodles in their face. Hilarious.

It was the black chunks that made it worse. Felt sorry for the taxi driver but looking back it was disgustingly hilarious!

Hah, he is a mini you - literally!

Gyms 6 days a week (if not 7). Just did a 150m in a month charity do, including 50 miles in under 12 hours in a place called the Long Mynd (very up and down, I'd struggle to walk it in 12 hours!!)... He's a machine!

Does it not make you get drunk really quickly?

I have never been a fan of being so drunk that i don't know what i'm doing.

I prefer to be slightly merry than completely wasted.

I only stick to one drink all night, rarely mix drinks unless i have a few shots inbetween pints :)

It's not really dehydration you usually need to worry about (though alcohol is a diuretic). The worst bit is you body trying to deal with excess acetaldehyde, which is quite the poison, but unfortunately what we first metabolise alcohol into.

B vitamins, cysteine, lecithin and vitamin C with zinc are where it's at. The zinc to help metabolise the vitamin c, which helps with the cystiene, which is what's used to produce the amino acid (glutathione) with converts the acetaldehyde into acetic acid. Eggs are a good source.

There's a bit more to it than that, but that's the basics. Pints of water before bed are useful for the dehydration (which is never good), but does nothing for your body dealing with the alcohol.
It's a combination of acetaldehyde poisoning your body, your brain swelling causing increased ICP and the swollen vessels restricting bloodflow caused by the dehydation, low blood sugar and an electrolyte deficit.

Acetaldehyde only becomes an issue for older/ more experienced drinkers. The thing is about our livers is that every time you drink, it releases more and more of the acetaldehyde as a by product of alcohol conversion, it's just a little bit less efficient every time.

Natures way of saying "Stop drinking for the love of god" and do we listen? Do we heck.

The reason I take RU21 is because it's full of amino acids and stuff which break down the acetaldehyde fast.

Before Bed

Food
A pint or two of water
A Berocca soluble tablet

Following Morning

More water and another Berocca
Paracetamol
Sleep

Crisps, coke, sleep and bit of slap and tickle ;)

Some of my friends have started taking these tablets - 1 before they start drinking, and 1 when they go to bed (PreToxx I think?). Sounds like some kind of placebo to me though.

You can man up but you can't stop yourself vomiting everywhere and generally feeling like death warmed up.

Hangover severity varies greatly between people, age, drinking habits, fitness etc. all factor in.

When I was young I thought hangovers weren't too bad "what is everyone moaning about", as I grew older they became debilitating conditions whereby you'll be chucking up all day and wishing death upon yourself.

I'm going to relish it while I can.

I drink, go to sleep, wake up, take a dump and a glass of water and I'm all kosher.
Whereas most other people I know are like they've died and woke up.
