Happy Hardcore

Happy hardcore always was and still is utter crapola. Please tell me what you enjoy about this style of music? Genuinely want to know, not just trolling.

I'm only speaking from the stuff I've linked to. For me, it's just about the uplifting sound and of course being a completely guilty pleasure that I'd rarely admit to :p

45 and stay at a premier inn. If i stay at mates house i cant really say, right boys am off on a night out with my newcastle mates! I will have to get to a distorted some time though to see what all the fuss is about

Premier inn? Hostel it :D or stay at one of ours, normally afters till midday saturday anyways :)

But like I said when the june line up gets released I think you'd change your mind ;)

MC Whizzkid is a lot better than he used to be, I've met him a few times and he's a top bloke aswell. Storms a bit of a c*ck in person, and that scratching thing he keeps doing is getting annoying now!

I don't like any of the old school stuff, infact I find it incredibly annoying to the ears! However, I must admit that I do enjoy a bit of the newer stuff. It's an absolute guilty pleasure and one I only endure when I've got a Saturday or Sunday night to myself. The headphones and Wacom/photoshop come out!

An example of what I'd listen to:

I suppose it's just my age, the newer stuff was all the rage in my earlier school days.

Haha, you got me listening to this in the morning before I go into Uni ... he's a good DJ  You have nothing to be ashamed about mate! Although I think he does'nt need all those decks he has there, maybe he can send me two? :D

If you don't like it thats upto you, I like some of the early hardcore sounds, but the new Mankina/Bounce/HH just makes me cringe, however me and about 15 mates are doing the HH weekender in May, but I'm more there for the Twisted and Brainfire arena on the saturday and the 4day bender :D

Luckily ive not seen storm since 2006 when he was at global with Sy

MC Friction is quite a good mc and top bloke too. Other DJs who are not up their own arse, come for a dance, chat etc are Proteus and Scott project.

Eddie Halliwell is a pure bell end

Does he still do that annoying vocal scratch thing?

Yes he does but when hes doing it back to back with Sy scratching its not too shabby.

Storm is a bit big headed but wouldnt you be if you won No.1 MC 5 years in a row  His lyrics are good and flow well with a lot of songs also Whizzkid is good and one of the nicest blokes ive ever met.

@KaHn-I will also be attending the HH weekender, might be going tranzmission next month aswell :)

HH isnt really my thing but its the T&B room we are going for, my mates also run a night in Newcastle called Distorted and they are taking their decks down to do challet parties when we dont want to listen to darren styles and stuff.

Defqon and Dominator the months after tho :D

It was the big thing over here in the mid-90's, tho it was more the trancier side of it.

I would have been more into the likes of Sharky and M-Zone than the cheesier stuff.

Loved it.

Aye MC Fricton is awesome, seen him a few times and he's a sound bloke, so's MC Daddy Earl, met him at a Hype night and was more than happy to have a rave with us after (Hype's a good laugh aswell)

I love it when you meet some DJ's and MC's that you've heard for years and then they actually turn out to be dead down to earth and just love music like you do!

I agree, his setup is ridiculous :D

Truth, I'm having to buy a USB controller to use until I can afford some proper CD Decks at the moment!

I'm back in the 90's :D

Me too. Went to every Dreamscape in Milton Keynes from about 93 to 94. Think the 93 New Years Eve was the first time they used Sanctury and Rollers and then every 2 months to NYE 94.

At least twice I got there having forgotten my ticket :D facing a night sat in the car buzzing my nuts off wasn't what I had in mind so had to buy off a tout.

Happy days :)

I used to work security at dreamscape(

what was the security like at these events? i remember listening to a slipmatt dreamscape 10 tape and an ellis dee dreamscape 11 set, both of which somoene passed out during the set and security was called. i always imagined security would just fling them outside
