Are there any programs that will allow me to see what programs are currently accessing the hard drive as at the moment it seems to be constantly accessing even if im not doing anything...Ive done a complete defrag of all my drives but can still hear constant accessing.

Could be a couple of things - Running Vista?

Vista - Defrags in the background on a low priority I believe it set do do this strating on Tuesday or Wednesdad @ 3am.

Vista - Search function is constantly on the go crawling through the contents of you HDD

EDIT: Vista has a hardware and performance monitor that should show activity of your HDD.

Not sure if XP - (the following applies to XP or Vista) Do have AV thats running?

In Vista it's called "Reliability and Performance Monitor", I'm sure there's something similar for XP that you can download from MS but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called.

You can click of "Disk" and see what is accessing the disks.

Thanks for the Info I dual boot Vista and XP but the actual problem was in XP, isolated it after doing some more searching, after disabling automatic updates and terminal services in admin tools >> services and disabling indexing on all the drives, hard drive accessing has stopped :).
