Hi all,

As per the title, the drive is showing in My Computer but it doesn't have its usual name and I cannot access anything on the drive. It doesn't even have any space allocation it seems.

In Disk Management I can see the drive, but it says the type is RAW (rather than NTFS) and it says it has no data on it.

Is there anything I can do to at least get my data off it?

Thanks

plug it into another pc if possible, or boot pc with hiren's boot cd and look from there if data is needed.

there are others if you dont like or cant get hirens,

UBCD for Windows

Ultimate Boot dvd

Reatogo-X-PE Boot CD

I just downloaded and ran EaseUS and during the scan my hard drive suddenly started working again!

I'm currently moving things over to an external HDD. I'm hoping it holds out until the transfer is done!

How could this happen? It's odd.

heat, age, or a spike or just unlucky. what make and size?

at least you got your data off.

if not there's plenty of chance to yet, good luck
