God damn it me lappy hard drive has failed and took every thing with it.

Yeah Yeah should have backed up funny thing is I was going to today hahahah.

Any ways I am now looking at this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-073-BF

and want to know how fast I could back up say a 4gb folder on it?.

Whats the read/write speeds.

Thanks

EDIT

I am looking at these small external drives to that require no extra power

Now what would be best to go for?

I am not to worried about the size of it really just don't want to wait 5hrs when I copy and paste stuff so based on that would I still be better going for my first choice?.

Thanks again

Hell I just gave you a huge reply and clicked the wrong button.

Oik, cut down reply time.

Both will be the same speed. If you took 5 hours to copy 4GB of data then thats your LapTops issue... Are you using USB1 and not USB2 ?

The main differences in these 2 are size ( Physically and in what they can store... 1000 or 320 - its up to you, but the smaller one yes, is powered through the USB, and I dont like that... Too much strain on the USB ports, I would rather have an extra wire myself.
