Hi everybody

I decided to reinstall windows from a recovery partition because i had a really annoying virus that i couldnt get rid of with AVG.

But now that iv done it i seem so have lost more than half of the usable space of my harddrive.

If i look in disk management then the C:\ drive shows 184 Gb which is correct since its a 200 Gb hard drive but in my computer it shows 66.7 Gb and i cant save any more than that.

Thanks for all your help in advance i really need it. And i need all the disk space i can get.

either it needs a format if it says unallocated space in disk management, or you need to install sp2 or sp3 for xp.

well, most likely causes anyway.

is it all one partition, if its more than one, does the other partition have a drive letter assigned? It hasnt randomly got limitations to space assigned per user has it? i think thats under the rclick menu on the drive from my computer, then quota's or something. Only other thing i could think of would be if you had jumpers onteh drive limiting its size, but then disk management should show it as limited as well.

There is a hidden recovery partition and then in the c: drive u have all the windows files nd program files.

The recovery partition cannot be seen in disk management you can only see the c: drive showing its original maximum capacity but in my computer you see less than half.

I have tried to clone my hard drive onto a bigger hard drive and it looked like it worked until i tried to reinstall windows from the recovery partition on the new hard drive and it couldnt install.
