I was always more into DNB though but I do like a lot of the old piano stuff

Isn't really an archive, quite a few youtube users are posting up old tape rips though.

This user has a vast collection with Mediafire mp3 links to download them all in comments: http://www.youtube.com/user/hardcoretapepacks

Another user posting tape rips but no download links: http://www.youtube.com/user/OldSkoolravevids

There are also plenty of compilation CD's around that are cheap to buy second hand as well.

I'm still personally looking for a tape from a Future Dance event, it was a double sided DJ Vibes tape and it was tape number 5 and 6 in the set. It was an incredibly cheesy set, but it was great none the less, love a bit of cheddar.

I've been subscribed to these for a while, some fantastic stuff gets put up :)

Even thought its been about 15 years, I still remember that from when I was about 13 listening to it on tape!! Pity its 7 minutes. I had the full set back then... time to go on the hunt!

Ive got the Firefox download helper addon and Total audio converter. Save a 90mb .mp4 and convert to 15mb 320kbps mp3 :)

spot on. DJ Easygroove > * :D

yep. easygroove was incredible. very good mixing. the beauty of an easygroove set was that you never knew what to expect. he spun techno to soul, happy hardcore to gabba and dnb.

ellis dee was another good one too. never heard a bad set from the bloke.

I went to so many Dreamscapes in the early nineties. Not a fan of the bouncy hardcore that came in though. I moved into the really good drum & bass of the time, around 1993. AWOL at the SW1 club was amazing.

This is the type of stuff I miss the most -

Another good vid, not great quality but has a nice 'raw' feel. Some similar to the above PapaLazaru ^ good track

I think I was born 10 years too late

Yea I was trying to find the full tape last night but it seems he did a lot of helter skelters in 96 lol.

I'll have another look when I've got more time, I guess you can narrow it down if the post on the video is correct but generally people won't label the video properly

yup wrong poster on the video it seems found it

BTW if anyone wants the tune from the start then it's this version

Too much happy hardcore in here :D Not a fan of the later bouncy HH but don't mind the earlier stuff such as this

One of my fave vocal commercial grade oldskool tunes is this

And one of my fave dark hardcore track is this

oh wait blasting happy rave music at 11:13am when my neighbours are always still awake around 4am in the morning everyday! (I can hear when they run the taps , flush the toilets or switch on a plugsocket in their bedroom :D **** em! sleep normal hours you *****!

i was never a fan of rat pack but i saw them at the quest re-union last year and they played a blinder

these tunes sum up hardcore at it's peak imo

too me thats just after the peak :p 1993 onwards .
.
.
.

then it became more like bonkers and shizzle. bit more comedy over the top sped up.

everyone has preferences and that will be personal. i prefer dark deep bass tunes myself.

funny cause that's a 93 tune :p

this tune for me is 92

thing is how stuff split into different genres out of the same stuff. i dont split them up myself cant be bothered with all the pidgen holing .

class tune !

long dark tunnel is proper DNB? I think that tune was still being used almost 10 years later though.
apparently it was supposed to be really good if you were high as a kite and you closed your eyes
it was used on sets with stuff like
and
and

some dnb sets had blatant hardcore in them though like people weren't aware they were going to end up different genres

A few years back I went to a Raver Baby re-union event and they had an 'old skool' room. The whole place went berserk when this came on and it kicked in at the 52 second mark :D

"Feel the panic, gotta have it!"

I think the only old school rave stuff in newcastle is at newcastle uni lol...

don't think I would fit in being 32 and not a uni student :(

I personally was too young at the time of the peak of the oldskool era to remember the clubbing scene. I was 12 in 1992,33 now. I do remember most of it, but never really had access to the proper underground stuff, only the commercial stuff on the radio. I made friends with a lad 4 years older than me about 11 years ago now and he gave me a copy of his 1200+ hardcore mp3 tracks. No mixes, just straight single tracks that he's personally ripped from his own vinyl collection and mates vinyl collections. There is a lot of rare stuff i've got. Will have to get them on youtube soon, because there are some real belters that i've got that aren't on YT.

To me, its the best music ever, but i am versatile and like anything from mowtown to dubstep, but 90-93 oldskool will always be the number 1 in my heart.
