Hardest Boss

I never defeated the boss from Beyond Good & Evil. As I've defeated every other boss I've come across in any other game, he has to be my hardest boss.

From this generation I thought Radec was seriously tough on elite difficulty. I tried and tried but could not get past the rocket launcher guys, still pains me to this day :(

The End - Metal Gear Solid 3 especially when doing unlock runs when it first came out

Not applicable today, theres probably 100's of videos of the encounter on youtube. Its definatly one of the best made boss fights though

I'll give an honourable mention to the "weapon" monsters in FF7 (ruby/emerald) because while they are a bloody joke once your characters are maxed out it was bloody hard / nigh on impossible with anything other than

Nah, he wasn't that hard. Need a green+blue combo... and more than 7 life left! :D

Its a joke.

And I never understood why everyone liked the green and blue combo ... its only overkill on easy and normal difficulties, bad on hard and useless on expert.

I gathered. It amused me that he only had 7 health. Thus: Joke+Amusement=Success. ;)

And Green+Blue is very useful against bosses as it allows you to concentrate on evasion. Other parts of the game, not so much.

On expert green + blue does half damage :p

This is how you do Expert:

Also on the final boss, the fireball weapon (Fire + Force) is the best choice as its the only weapon that does splash damage on all the gems.

I was going to record a full expert playthrough, but neither fraps nor afterburner work with the mega drive classics on steam :(

Hard to say, I know a couple of boss fights in Shining Force 2 seemed very hard, the Kraken maybe simply because you were stuck on this raft which limited your attacks a lot.

Anyone ever played this game?

The last boss took me aegis...Was a very memorable game growing up

I think the only boss I've had any real trouble with was the one at the end of Resident Evil Code veronica. Only because I kept running out of ammo and no matter what I tried I wouldn't have enough bullets to kill her.

Had to go back to a much earlier save and conserve ammo.
