Hardest Boss

Lost Planet Extreme Colonies final boss is ridiculously hard on the easy mode the extreme mode is virtually impossible. Japanese developers love their ultra hard boss fights!

Projext X on the Amiga. Man that game was sweet yet so hard to complete. I never beat the final level either but it did take up so much time trying.

I could never get past the first boss of ghouls n ghosts when I was really young. I loved the game and just kept playing the 1st level over and over again :(

I still haven't been able to beat the final boss in Final Fantasy 8 without cheats :p

I believe you can get the Rinoa card and convert it to 100 heroes (or whatever the item that makes you invincible was)...that can be converted to 10 holy wars (or whatever the item name was that makes all 3 team members invincible)...

just made sure everyone was low enough on health to do their renzokuken-type attacks...start the fight and cast Holy War and win

Two questions really:

Which boss is the most challenging and requires the most skill? & Which boss is such a poo-head that you almost smashed up your house as a result? The latter can almost totally ruin a game.

Some WoW bosses were hard, but the problem is that you needed 25 people doing exactly what they are supposed to with very little to no mistakes for about 10 minutes, a great example would be Ragnaros HC.

There are plenty of super hard end bosses in bullet hell/shmup games that are almost impossible to kill without losing most of accumulated lifes.

I remember crash bandicoot 1 bosses being really hard. Probably had something to do with my age. But age:difficulty rating would certainly go to that for me!

Street Fighter has always had cheap bosses, that have almost driven me to smash things.

Although once you accept that a) they can pull off impossible combos (some not possible by a human) b) they will happily spam a move, then you can figure out their weakness and spam it for the win.

Took me ages to beat some fighting bosses, then once you beat them its almost the same on all difficulties.

I hate that Seth boss from street fighter 4 series. Always using cheap tricks

The hardest boss I ever faced was shao kahn when I first played ultimate mortal kombat 3. He just seemed from another planet against my liu kang. In the end I had to use noob saibot to do that cloud fireball move and then just beat the **** out of shao kahn :p

Yeah, Seymour was much harder! (took me age to get past him)

Seymour Flux? thats the one you get just as you enter sin?

that was a doddle lol, wait for the discs to line up, say fire for instance, summon Ifrit, and just smack the hell out of Seymour without using magic :p
everytime he casts fire, well, repeat as necessary for similar elements :p

Hardest boss for me was at the end of heavenly sword, it fired coloured balls and you had to react by pressing the right buttons, I'm colour blind and couldn't tell the differance between purple and blue balls fast enough so never managed to beat him.
The weapons from FF are sooo easy if you work out there weaknesses, the only thing I had an issue with emerald weapon on FFVII was how long it took to hit it with KotR sooo many times (kept setting it off and going to get something to eat).

Crawmerax (I may have spelt that wrong) in borderlands was pretty tough. Not a final game boss, but the toughest in that game.

emerald weapon from ff7 was easy really compared to ruby....used to beat emerald before the 20min timer ran out easy 2chars doing 4x slash or slash all then 3rd char doing healing. Tried lots of times to kill ruby without using kotr but never managed to do that :(

Penance wasn't hard though, just tedious. Syemour 3rd on the other hand was made oh so much worse by the stupid ****ing cut scene before it!!!! Seymour must've taken me 50+ attempts before I finally managed it. Penance took me 1 attempt that lasted almost 2 hours and was pretty smooth sailing except for 1 bit that I totally ****ed up on and spend 30 minutes recovering from. Would've been easier if I'd known about the memory cursor thing so I could've used quick hit ><
