Hardocp review mlaa

of course it is!
The anti MLAA brigade also known as "Nvidia fanboys unite" never used the feature.

The new 10.10d feature now enables the use of MLAA in DX10-11 games.
Epic.:eek::eek:

"Morphological AA is the wave of the future. We believe that image quality enhancements of this nature are going to be the key to providing a better gameplay experience. What a novel idea, that we could take the entire image and apply something to it that would reduce this aliasing menace."

What was it again "feature designed for mid-low cards......" /lol

OCP love AMD no surprise they do a favorable review. Anyone can tell the complete loss of definition even from OCP's own screens, you can hardly make out formula 1 on the banner in the mlaa shot.

lol blurry vision..

I couldn't get on with MLAA on my card. Though admittedly it was using the modded drivers to be able to run it on my 5870.

I reckon it may have potential in future though. With some refinement it could be decent.

Raven this is the 3rd time you have pretty much accused a review site of preffering amd just because they seem to say good things about amd cards. I have used 3 different review sites in 3 different threads showing amd in a good light and for this reason they prefer amd. It could just be that amd are doing good things atm so getting some well deserved prase.

It's optional, how can you criticise an optional feature? If you don't like it, don't enable it. I'm sure it works better in some games than others. I'd rather have the feature available than not.

Real look at the screen that I posted from the OCP review, you happy with that quality? And everyone knows about the fallout OCP had with Nvidia, relations are still frosty, they big AMD up big

Still it's a nice feature to have if AA is not possible.

Thats one screenshot. Did you read the whole review or just pick out a screenshot and go on about blur. If you read the review you will find out there are plus sides to mlaa as well. A lot of features on gpu's come with some down sides as well as the up.

After a quiet couple of months, the green monster is stirring, too many GPU releases in too short space of time...

I think you need to upgrade your monitor... in most games it makes distant textures look like something you'd see on a playstation.

I'm not against MLAA, I think it has its place, but its not some radical new idea or set to overtake MSAA as some seem to think.

Here's another, the whole mlaa image is blurred, it's decent but it's no AA replacement, nowhere near.

In fact you posting this article makes it even more evident how mlaa reduces detail big time.

I got a 2407 Dell and its ok for now thnx.
1920 x 1200res set + MLAA set + 16AF = one fast good looking game...

Blur is there but in fast moving games you cant see it.
Like driving a F1 one card.....lol

If that was the case you wouldn't need AA in the first place... why on earth would you use 16x AA and MLAA anyhow...

The blur is there all the time on every texture, it does not disappear with fast moving games lol, the whole image has lost definition akin to dropping down res.

Its not really a case of stand it or can't... it has its place... if you prefer it to MSAA/can't tell the difference all well and good... but it is not a replacement/improvement over MSAA in the main - which is what some people are trying to make out.

Hello all. I don't usually post but instead just read the forums but thought I'd share my opinion. I have a 6870 and have briefly used the option. Going by the images they have provided though I believe all the images except one look better with MLAA vs No AA but I prefer the MSAA (and the other forms of AA) examples over the MLAA. Maybe its just me but surely the option deserves some credit when it improves image quality over No AA with little performance loss. Again its just my opinion. Seems weird posting when I've read a fair amount of posts from people in this thread and this will virtually be the first anyone has heard of me. You never know I may post again :)
