heck i'd forgot about the original compensation chelsea paid to get him. i thought we were paying him a little too much but with that taken into account it's a fair wage.

Me as well, but I am slightly worried VDV may be off now. I don't see Sig as a Modric replacement whatsoever, and there are rumours that VDV may be off to Schalke. Selling VDV is the sort of thing Levy would do as in few years VDV will be 33/34 and will be worth next to nothing, and we all know Levy runs a tight ship and likes to balance the books.
 
VDV didn't have a great season just gone. he's the wrong age for levy and so is defoe. both will go if the right offer comes in.

could have been all agreed around that time as well, they were just waiting on the clauses on his chelsea contract to expire before signing/announcing it.

don't think vdv did enough last season to make me think avb would keep him on, rather get the money to fund players.

saw mention of him having a £50m kitty, be interesting to know if thats with or without the modric sale, if its without then he could do quite well.

if he could convince modric to stay, bring moutinho in , vertogen...

I disagree, if we keep the other Kyle and have Adam Smith who is a promising talent. Vert in, King to coach, Gallas to ahve his last year.

Really don't see how AVB is any improvement over 'arry.

Spurs won't be top 4 next season, buttttttttttttttt I'm not saying AVB is bad, he just needs to be given time. Chelsea don't give managers time, unless they are Mourinho.
 
After seeing 'Arry slate the fans, the club and anyone else he can see anything is better than him. "they never had it so good" NO HE never had it so good. AVB will do well (I hope) we had the squad to really challenge for top 3, Harry blew it.

Tottenham have appointed Luis Martins as first-team coach, the club have announced.

Martins has previously worked at Sporting Lisbon, where he oversaw the Under-17 and Under-19 sides and was also the club's assistant coach in 2004-05, and Braga. Last year he travelled to Saudi Arabia to work with the national and Olympic teams.

A short statement on Tottenham's official website said: "The club is delighted to announce the appointment of Luis Martins as first-team coach."
