Harry Redknapp gone

I think he will do really well with Tottenham. He might actually get some support from the high ups and hopefully will be allowed to build a team that he is happy to use.

I genuinely don't think that the Chelsea job was his fault. Every other manager has said that Chelsea's dressing room is a nightmare to manage. I don't think for a second that Di Matteo will last the season with Chelsea and as soon as he tries to actually change the way Chelsea play, he will have the same issues.

Its quite sad how little players seem to care about their club when they don't particularly get on with the manager. The difference in attitude between the AVB reign and RDM was just night and day. They actually tried.

Good luck to Spurs and I think he will do very well for them.

Excited by this, we play his style football already, wont have to change loads. Support from the board etc....maybe modric will stay...although that is wishful thinking.

AVB now the Spurs manager or head coach, choose either one:p. He might do better at Spurs as he hasnt got to deal to deal with a manager hungry owner anymore:p. He also doesnt have to deal with the self inflated egos that he had to deal with at Chelsea ie Terry and co:p.

Will be interesting to see how he does in the EPL this season....good luck to the guy and Spurs.

34! This still worries me..

I don't think it should. We all know that age has very little to do with competency so as long as the players support him, he should be fine.

I know that experience is worth a lot but the top managers didn't get where they are without winning competitions. He has won more already than most managers do in a career so I don't see age as an issue unless people make it an issue.

I'm a Chelsea fan and I think he would have been great at Chelsea given time. At Chelsea he was given the remit of building a new team, however he tried to go about it too quickly and managed to upset some vital players.

I think he should do well at Spurs.

I don't get why people are judging him on his Chelsea record. By that logic, Scolari is a bad manager too. Was Brian Clough a bad manager because he did so poorly at Leeds?

Yeah but in fairness very few managers get the opportunity to manage a team that dominates its domestic league (and which is well capable of winning the Europa League) so early on in their career.

Probably because it's a far more similar role to managing Tottenham than Porto was, same league, same rivals, a top 5 team wanting Champion League football etc.

Big risk from Levy who doesn't have the best record (especially with foreign coaches)

This could be hilarious

If Ade sings a contract it could be interesting. I see him as the only ego which is say comparable to what he had to deal with at Chelsea with the likes of Terry, Drogba and Lampard. The squad will also be younger in general. Gallas will most likely off to MLS, King retiring, and the rest of the experienced players like Brad and Parker are hardly of the character to cause problems and question his experience or lack of. Could be a master stroke by Levy, or could be a train crash only time will tell.

but maybe Hulk (as he knows him well anyway).

can't ever see that happening, a player of his calibre wont sign for spurs, not yet anyway.

however, AVB is (i'm hoping) the first phase in a new era for spurs, few good signings next, new stadium, team progress, we could be serious contenders for titles on domestic and european stages in 2 yrs time if this is executed well.

if we can scout some young players and bring them through, maybe we'll become a club where they want to stay. bale is proof that this is possible.

Spurs couldn't afford Falcao, but maybe Hulk (as he knows him well anyway).

Wasn't Chelsea quoted crazy money for Hulk? Both would be out of reach in terms of just the transfer fee alone, and their wages which no doubt would be at least double over our wage cap. Regardless Hulk is overrated, he makes Defoe look like Xavi, he has to be one of the most selfish players around.

I'd say it's unlikely, but I don't think it's impossible. Remember a season or two ago, when Spurs were bidding for every striker in the World (allegedly :p).

Well, not every striker in the World, but they were attempting to splash on people like Rossi, and others who I can't remember right now.

Levy was hitch-hiking round Europe with a suitcase full of $50m apparently :P
