We did this with the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 12 but not since then.

Screen technology has come on massively in the last few years, people claim they scratch easier but has anyone actually broken their iPhone screen in the last few years?

YouTube tests show they have to be dropped from some crazy height to properly break so I wonder how often it happens in the real world. Going back a few years, it was very common to see people using phones with broken screens but I forget the last time I saw one.

Last one was an iPhone X which was completely replaced under AppleCare+. That was from my gym shorts, so not a massive height.

Dropped my work 13 and my own 14 Pro and its replacement the 15 Pro Max a few times and I can barely see any marks at all.

No, but also my phone is always in a Mous case that I am sure has saved me a few times.
I have Apple Care. Just not sure I want to risk going with no case.

Never broken a screen, Mrs has cracked the back of her 13 Pro though which is annoying as she always used to have a case and decided one day she didn’t want one :(

Closest i have come to fully destroying a iphone screen was when my phone (iphone 12) which i had propped atop a 2meter roll of flooring with the torch on. It fell off when i forgot it was there and moved the roll. The phone was in a case but fell pretty flat on its face resulting in three lines of pixels going from top to bottom turning green and pink.

last phone that totally broke on me was a nokia lumia 1020 which i had bought due to nokias history as a solid quality manufacturer. fell from around 2ft and shattered into pieces to the point of complete failure of the device

Yes! 13 Mini last year, landed face down on patchy gravel from around 6ft, phone was in a case and had a screen protector (that didnt cover the notch) nataully the impact crater was in the notch area.

At my family home in Spain, the tiled floor has an eternal hunger for phones. I never fail to drop mine when out there.

However for the last 2 iPhones, they haven’t broken when dropped :P Just scratched very badly…

I haven't myself, but my kids both managed to break their SE 2020s.

May be about to put my work phone (13PM) to the test given I cracked the screen protector during travelling, and fitted a new one Sunday evening. Monday morning it had a chip on the edge and a crack along the protector - it hadn't even left my desk, let alone any impact! Going to try totally naked now!

I've always used tempered glass protectors so no.
My current refurb 14 Pro has one on it and is obviously flawless. I am just mulling on cancelling my AppleCare for the thing as I can't see me coming into a scenario where I need it as I am careful with my devices.
