Decided in probably 2018 that I was a big boy and threw away my phone case, and haven't used one since

Haven't broken a screen since my iPhone 6 plus I think?

My current iPhone 15 Pro Max has a couple of very light scratches that you can only see in the right light when the screen is off or totally black, and it's had some pretty heavy drops since i've had it.

Tools not jewels for me, I look after stuff carefully and feel like I drop my phone way less than other people I know.

Although it’s not ‘broken’, I managed to get a chip out of the edge of the screen on my 13 mini when it was in an Apple leather case, probably when I was setting up on stage. I was annoyed enough to replace the case with a Lifeproof one, and so far I’ve avoided any more damage.

My mum’s 13 was however totally trashed when she dropped it on a corner. It was in an Apple clear case, I think, and the whole screen smashed. She’s just replaced it with a 16 as the repair cost was unpalatable.

Personally I think modern mobile phones are far too fragile. Most of my friends and relatives put up with damaged screens purely because of the prohibitive costs of replacing them. I’m sure some are clumsy oafs, but I’m pretty careful with my gear, and even I managed to chip my screen :p
