Has Anyone Moved From Nvidia To Amd And Not Regretted It

I had some reasons to regret going AMD. I went from a 1070 Ti -> 5700 XT. The main problem was random black screens after 30 mins to a few hours with FreeSync enabled. That stayed on the driver notes as a 'Known Issue' for a couple of years before it was fixed IIRC.

Then had an issue in WoW of the driver crashing, and the game then 'coming to' a few seconds later with like 20 FPS for the rest of the session unless restarted. A friend who also had an AMD card reported the same thing in the same game.

Still went from the 5700 XT -> 7900 XT though on account of no NVidia card having the horsepower and VRAM I wanted at a price I could stomach. Other than the high idle power issue that was fixed quite quickly, I'm happy to say the RDNA3 experience has been a lot more solid and less buggy than RDNA1!

Yes, went from Nvidia FX5600 (I think that was the model number, this was back around 2005
Oh lord I had one of those too first gfx card I ever owned... and it was faulty. Made the psu/mobo go bang (literally) short circuit presumably. I've owned two nvidia cards that were faulty for different reasons only one duff amd and that was a b-grade that its memory failed after a few months

Oh black screen had that on a GTX1080ti that was a driver issue apparently, they fixed it eventually

Don’t think I ever had an Amd but think i will after my current 3080. NVIDIA prices are just crazy for this gen, I just can’t bring myself to pay this sort of money just to game

XFX by any chance? a couple of their models of the FX series had some kind of power fault which was destroying the card or people's PCs - couple of people I went to college with had the cards "let out the magic smoke" with them - fortunately not taking out their PC.

I did and now back with Nvidia. The 7900xt was a fantastic card, especially when I was mainly playing cod. Branched out to catch up on some single player games and felt I was missing out on some ray tracing eye candy. If AMD can somehow catch up in RT and FSR4 is good, they’ll be in a much better spot.
