Has Micro$oft crippled IE (Or is it just me?)

I am nearly 72 and I haven't used IE for as long as I can remember - Use Firefox on 32 bit PC and Cyberfox on 64 bit PC. - Come on old man fez up

Tries Chrome and couldn't get on with it.

Chrome is excellent.

The only thing that gets a bit annoying is that it spawns a process thread for each tab you open. And i have a bad habit of having a good 50 tabs open, so my task manager is flooded with Chrome processes.

IE has a solid and efficient codebase but lacks features (especially extensions). Then there's Microsoft decision to use adobe flash which I like.

Chrome isn't efficient at all, and uses its own pepperflash. Whilst it's consumes more resources, and is not that efficient, I still use it over IE due to extension support.

Only use IE for work because we have to use some software that only works in IE - our timesheet system and HP Quality Center. Horrible fat java clients shipped as CAB files, yuck !

IE11 is actually not that bad, certainly one of the better versions.

firefox is just a bloated buggy mess.

chrome is alright, being able to sync between devices is nice.

IE11 is not going anywhere, it's the only built-in browser if you opt for the long term servicing branch of Windows 10. Which I imagine quite a few business will opt for.

Since FF came out I've only used IE for those tasks that only seem to recognise IE, so basically updates and editing posts on OcUK.

Some things on FF are just too handy, even little things like "copy as plain text".

FF is now worse than IE imo.

used IE exclusively since the late 90s, don't like firefox or chrome,

although I do use safari on my mac

Over the last couple of days IE seems to have slowed right down.

Other browsers seem just fine.

Has M$ crippled it to "Encourage" people to use Edge??

(I probably will in due course, but I resent being forced too )

(More to the point, how does one transfer ones "credentials" from IE to Edge?)

no it is not 'just you' I have used it for years, but I firmly believe they are crippling it now to force people to use Edge browser,

I have noticed it from last September, but recently all of a sudden it cant handle youtube vids, flash video/embedded content?

c'mon, I was someone brought up on watching for the first sign of weekness in a Windows install, and doing a fresh install to counter it.
